Are Recent Burberry Bags Underrated?

Cheap labor with little regard for workers and the working environment. There’s also political issues which we can’t discuss on this forum. Many of us have experienced poor quality. Household goods are just one example of the decline in quality which I have experienced. I’ve had my own issues with coach quality after manufacturing was moved to China. But to each his/her own. Buy whatever you love.

In any factory anywhere in the world, what the buyer is willing to pay is what they will get. Chinese factories are capable of exceptionally high quality production. If a buyer will only pay $10 per bag for labor, they will get $10 quality. Pay $50, you'll get $50, etc.

This is the rule with any factory including ones in the USA. That's how manufacturing works. Blame the brand and their desire for higher profits - don't blame the factory. The factory is only doing what it's been told to do.

I stand by what I said. To each his/her own. Buy whatever you love.

i like Burberry a lot, but the new branding might be one of the factors turning people off. This for eg.

Its horrendus.
The other might be when they came out and announced that they incinerate all unsold stock rather than 'Sale' it. They were the first to admit it and that has stuck. in 2017 28M in stock incinerated. Its not gone down well in the age of recycling and waste production.
I only have 2 items, a trench and a leather bridle style bag. I agree quality is amazing, i bought in 2013 and it hasnt lost a stitch yet.
I was about to say this too. I was massively turned off by this elitist attitude and they have been previous offenders on this because they got cross when Burberry check was associated with ‘chavs’ when the start thing to do was say ‘we are so glad Burberry is expanding its customer base. We want everyone to love our stuff...’ or something of that ilk.

I also think it is disgraceful they closed down production in the U.K. when they are a ‘heritage’ brand.

On the logo- I’m British and I do think Tory Burch, then tuberculosis, before finally getting to Burberry. If I recall Thomas Burberry used to be their budget line as well so I think it’s just a really bad idea all over. I think they should use the horse and rider or come up with a new logo altogether as there’s too much competition for letters

Also thinking about it- it is strange they incinerated those goods rather than putting them on sale because Burberry always seems to be on discount.

I think they’ve had problems for ages and I think they don’t have a clear brand identity and they seem to want Chanel or YSL levels of brand recognition without putting their level of commitment into the marketing

Yes agree completely
I have seen the banner bag and really want it. Would you recommend it? Sounds like from your post you would but just checking

I would definitely recommend the banner bag! I love how it has few compartments and zip pockets that I can easily organize my items and it's just the perfect size as a work bag for me (I have the medium size). I love how it has a handle and removable cross body strap and I can wear it different ways. I have a very similar Prada bag that was a lot heavier and I ended up not using. Also love how durable the leather is that I don't need to baby the bag. I love it so much I even got a Burberry bear charm to go with it and it's just perfect!
