Are my Diamonds too small?

I don't think you rings sound teeny at all! Do they feel small compared to your hand? Are the watch diamonds overpowering you rings?

There's no rule! If you are happy, it works! If you aren't, it doesn't.

There's no rule on size. I would much rather have a good quality diamond over size. Sounds like you want to keep up with the Jones and let material things dictate your wants in life.

]i know a woman who wears her original e-ring, probably 1/4 carat at most. they have their own jet with complete staff.[/B]

diamonds represent sentimental value, i would NEVER judge a person by the size of their diamond

i would rather see a beautiful smaller stone, than a big browninsh rock with inclusions..or cloudiness

That is very refreshing to hear.

Also, I have a friend who has a 2 carat engagement ring. She keeps asking me if it's too small. I keep telling her, "It's a beautiful ring." What does the size matter? Besides, if my boyfriend ever gets me a diamond that is smaller than hers, what is she going to think? Personally, I don't care what anyone thinks when it boils down, I'd be happy with what my boyfriend gave me, but it's natural to wonder sometimes.

All good comments so far!!!

Its a pointless miserable task trying to `keep up` with others!!!! Not only do the rules keep changing (ie something is cool then it is try hard etc), but there is always someone with more.

At the end of the day, you are more about your mind than any outside object!!!! That is your real asset imo.

I think it matters more what you are like as a person than the size of your diamonds!!!

Nobody really cares what watch you wear, what bags you carry etc - I know that these things have become status symbols but I think it is the meaning behind the items that matters.

My engagement ring is small by the standards of most of the engagement rings on this forum but it was all we could afford at the time and it means everything to me. Just because it is smaller than most does not mean that my hubby doesn't love me as much infact, he probably loves me more because he spent more than he could afford on this ring!

Please remember - this is only MY OPINION, I am not having a go at anybody (judging from some other threads - I don't want to get a blasting just for voicing my opinion!)

Yes, your diamonds are too small. You must have 3 carats or more and the accompanying GIA paperwork to support your stone, and must be OK'd by Swanky...our resident rock expert.

It is questions like these that make a person . Seriously, what do we buy our bags, our jewelry and our other things FOR? For me and I know for many others it is for our own enjoyment. They are the things we really want, and we don't obsess about carat weight in relation to our watches and bags. Obviously, others are only concerned about the "image" they give off to others. But if you live your life for what others think or to look worthy in some stranger's eyes, you will never be happy. The biggest diamond and most expensive bag in the world cannot solve that self-esteem issue.

Like others have said, people who HAVE wealth don't need to flaunt it. They are secure in who and what they are. It is the nouveau-riche who wonder if their diamonds measure up and if their watches and bags are good enough. I have friends with tremendous, inherited wealth but still drive Toyotas and wear Levis. You would never guess by looking at them or being around them that they have money and their family has had money for generations. And they couldn't care less if anyone thinks they are wealthy or not because they judge others and want to be judged themselves by the content of their character.

not to sound snob, lv is ok. teenage girls carry lots of LV, u see loads in university campuses. maybe birkin will be a better choice.
i agree a quality of diamond is much better than the size. same with real estate. uu have a large house in a shady community, but have an average size at a better location which one do u think is much more valued ?

I believe that a Cartier yellow gold band would be classier than a diamond ring, considering your watch. Besides, you are not comfortable with your diamonds, so why wearing them?..

I have a question to make, why do you find that a LV bag is a statement bag?..I mean, I don`t even understand why statement rings...which statement are you making?...

I might be misjudging you, but you sound like you were always trying to boast your jewels. I know your collection by heart, you´ve mentioned it a gazillion times!!!
