are diamond tennis bracelets still fashionable?

The eternity band is a great idea for an unworn tennis bracelet. I always think I would hit the stones on the underneath of the ring and have them go missing. "

Hasn't been a problem and I've had it for nearly six months now. I love love love love love it. Best jewelry decision ever to reset that bracelet. My ring ended up being about 3 carats, around 3.5mm ish. Platinum. LOVE it.

Good to know, and plat is very strong too. I'm sure your ring is gorgeous.....post a pic if you can, I would love to see it.

I just tore mine up and made an eternity band out of half the diamonds, and a pendant out of the the other half. The bracelet sat in my jewelry box for 10 years mostly unworn. I wear the eternity band every day now and I am really pleased I had it reset.
I took your advice and brought my tennis bracelet to the jewelers to made into an eternity band!...I have 44 diamonds on it and they are approx. 5 or 6 pointers........Im really looking forward to getting it..thx!

That's great! Looking forward to learning what they came up with. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have loved mine!

so thanks to the gals on PF, you gave me the idea of turning my tennis bracelet into an eternity band....Im very pleased, as the diamonds were better than I thought, esp without all the metal. I actually have 24 left over, so I'm having her use them to do a cushion halo around some 2 carat studs (1 carat each) that I never wore either....so now I have another diamond band that I can wear with my ring, or as a stack with my others!!!

Gorgeous and I like the cushion halo idea, too!

i don't think tennis bracelets have ever gone out of style, they're classic pieces, like a strand of pearls or diamond studs. but ... if you're more comfortable turning it into something else than do it. your eternity band looks gorgeous, along with all the other diamonds ... very impressive. it's good that you were able to find something that makes your heart sing.

oh, I agree with you.......but I had this one sitting there forever, and never wore it. It was old and the setting was very dated. I have another one in which the diamonds are a little larger...which Im going to start wearing now....I don't know why I even stopped wearing them in the first place..?

Wow turned out great. Tennis bracelets are classic depending on the setting. I still wear mine everyday with my Love Bracelet but it sounds like yours was not in a traditional platinum setting. Diamonds are meant to be worn so at least now you have something beautiful. Post the earrings once you get them done.

Congratulations! It turned out great and looks really pretty with your other rings! I'm glad my story inspired you to try it -- a great idea to do the earrings, looking forward to seeing how those come out as well!

thanks saligator..Im so glad that I did it....now I cant wait for the earings too. I cant believe I have almost enough diamonds to do both..I just need 3 or 4 more for the earings......

I also did a "remake" of my 14k yellow gold tennis bracelet. It sat in my jewelry box for 12 years and I never wore it. So I started thinking that I would do something with the diamonds. I usually wear my WG Love on my left hand and now my new diamond bangle set in WG is so fun to wear with my Love. Here are some photos.....the first one is "before" the remake....
