I ask this with all sincerity as this forum is so empty. I have wanted a Burberry bag since 2004-ish. I did buy a small Nova Check one in 2004 and it eventually didn't work me. I have been longing for one to love for 20+ years now. Different styles but always some sort of Check bag. I am sort of concerned as this forum is dead. Has the quality just tanked? Or something else? I'm looking a $900 USD mini shoulder bag.

I think it’s a general apathy towards the brand rather than a quality issue. I don’t think the quality will be much different than a similarly priced canvas LV.

Burberry has been trying to get out of their slump ever since Bailey left (IMO). If you like the bag then you should opt for it. There’s hardly a more iconic brand known for their check (for better or worse).

Agree with @Christofle . I don't think people actively dislike Burberry bags or continuously complain about quality etc.
I used to be a big Burberry fan for their RTW and tailoring. I could never bring myself to buy a bag, no matter how cute I thought it was, because of the depreciation on the pre-loved market. You could check around the pre-loved market for the bag, but of course, no guarantees it will show up since people don't buy a lot of Burberry bags in general.

But at the end of the day, if you love, you love it. No matter what brand you buy.

I think the bag is cute and versatile actually and the check is a classic print. The shape is quite adorable as well.
Price-wise honestly, under $1k is a rarity, and in this day and age, it's not a bad price.

I used to love Burberry - a great British brand standing for heritage, tradition and style with a modern twist. But since the re-branding mistakes and the big aggressive logos (TB/BURBERRY) and sustainability scandals (overproduction and burning of products) Burberry just stands for bad design, aggressive marketing and lack of ethics.

For me the plaid not lining up so visibly would make me crazy and I couldn't buy it.
But if you're not bothered by that, then get it and enjoy
In the past it would have. But I’m actually actively working through meditation and yoga practice to find quiet and acceptance in chaos. And this unaligned bag is a reminder and challenge to the new me. I actually enjoy the chaos.

A lot of people fell out of love with Burberry after Christopher Bailey left because the brand seemed to lose its way. I am a huge fan of his era of Burberry, but now, not so much. I still buy pre-loved pieces when I find them at a good price though! I think the best way to go would be to visit an outlet location if you wanted to buy a bag from them. I definitely wouldn't pay full retail.

I personally think not being on everyone's shoulders is what makes any brand cool. You pay attention when you see it and you're more drawn to their overall head-to-to look. On Burberry - obviously loved Bailey's premiership. Hated Ricardo's because he made it so basic and street and slapped the gross TB across everything. Love Daniel's RTW but not completely sold on his accessories just yet. I'm waiting for his Bag moment. That said, I rather like the look of this tote. It's cool:

I saw one of those TB bags recently and thought it meant Tory Burch. I haven't paid much attention to the brand the last 5+ years. Also that tote is cute.

Well, you might want to wait for bags with the new old Equestrian Knight logo… since nobody likes the TBs…
