Are 2010 leathers drier?

All of my 2010 bags are thick and chewy and buttery. Not a dry bag in sight!

BUT that being said most of the bags I have seen at Neimans and some at the Bal boutiques have been dry......maybe because of all the air conditioning in those stores??

my canard, sorbet, outremer, anthra SS10, bleu roi, and cyclade have wonderful leather. but my seigle city rh was very dry. I poured out LMB conditioner 4 times. it's getting better but not perfect. only the tassels that are still dry. So I guess it's true that some seigles tend to be dry

2010 has been my favorite year so far, honestly. Chewy, not at all dry. Plus they break in like a dream. Plus, the gloss is actually what... glossier? So that the handles don't get dirty as easily as the more porous leather years.

i have quite a few 2010 bags. sang, anthra, bleu roi, lime and sorbet to name a few. but NONE of them are dry at all. infact sang and bleu roi have buttery leather. the only colour that is on the drier side is sorbet.

I was hoping to buy a f/w 2010 black rgh city after seeing all the yummy leather in photos...but the leather was very dry and disappointing in store. However, the black city with GH was nice and thick....so strange!

I think all bags varies, i specifically asked my SA for a wrinkly/glossy leather for my Seigle Velo & have to really verify it in person before i decided to buy. How could i resist when i saw it, just such a heavenly leather w/ so much texture.
My new 2010 Anthra RGGH City have awesome leather too, so it's really best if you see & pick what you're buying.
When i buy pre-owned, i need to see pictures of all the angles, clear close-up of the leather, if it's smooth even if it's glossy, i'll PASS. Smooth & dry leather are big time deal breakers for me.

Funny, I was at Neiman Marcus buying my beautiful (first BBAG, thank you...) Bois De Rose City and thought the same thing...the leather felt dry...yes, smooshy and soft but there was an arid quality. I have only touched BBags this year so I don't have anything to compare with, but my BBag virgin fingers thought they could use a little more moisture. I live in Michigan and don't intend to take my precious BBag out in the winter cold. I have other bags for this time of year. This first bag and future ones will enjoy spring, summer and early fall :)
