For one thing, this looks like courchevel (which is an embossed leather) and not snakeskin. To the best of my knowledge, Hermes does not use snakeskin. And sorry, the seller has not provided any edifying photos and yours are out of focus, for the most part.
On their listing they said snake leather but I'm guessing they meant snake embossed leather. As For pics - are these any better? I really tried but some details are too tiny for my camera to catch clearly - on the metal buckle there are small word inscribed on the inside saying "B Swiss Plaque" there's also a small marking next to it, something like a 6?

It more likely means the seller is not well-informed about Hermes - they don't do "snake embossed" or snakeskin pieces.

And you're completely right, now that I look at it some more it definitely just looks like full-grain leather
I believe this is authentic; definitely courchevel. If you aren't familiar with this leather, you may want to read up on it. And if you don't like it, you can buy a new band from Hermes.
