My former in-laws purchased an Apple Watch for me for Christmas... I'm ashamed to admit that it's still in the box, sealed.

They originally purchased the rose gold with the lavender band (because my former sister-in-law wanted that color, and she got a matching Apple watch for Christmas) but the rose was way too pink for my liking, and it was far too feminine with the purple band. I'm more of a jeans and black tee shirt kind of girl. So, they exchanged for the antique white with gold watch case. I love the color...

But I haven't even set it up yet. I haven't even opened the box. I'm paranoid that I would destroy it in a matter of months. I scratched the display on my Fitbit Charge pretty badly within two weeks of receiving it for my birthday, and the band is terribly discolored but I have no idea why (I don't use perfumes daily - only on special occasions - and I remove my FitBit before spraying any cleaning chemicals or hair products).

That.. and I like the Sleep feature on my FitBit and wonder if I could switch back and forth between the Apple Watch and my Fitbit without messing up the readings on my Health Apps too badly. I'm sure using two devices at different times would throw off all of the reports I receive weekly from Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, etc..

Here is mine.

Hi Nikki, how have you liked your watch over the past couple of months? I have one in its box sitting in my exercise drawer [emoji38][emoji38] idk if I need one, so I exchanged it for the black version to gift to my BF. However, he is as tech illiterate as they come so idk if he is best suited for it lol.

What about getting apple care for the watch? Although it may be to late if the box is open

I do like it. But only because I am the worst with my phone. Even my friends know to call my husband for invites and such if I don't answer. So it is good for me since I am a spaz when it comes to my phone. It is always at the bottom of my purse. haha! I had to get used to wearing it though. I have really never worn a watch. And it is kinda big. :p

I haven't even opened the box yet. It's still sealed in shrink wrap, so I could probably still purchase Apple Care.

I was thinking about going to Best Buy or another electronics store and asking them to install a screen protector on the watch, like the one I have on my iPhone... I've seen them online.
Apparently, they also make cases to protect the watch, but I think that option would probably make the watch too bulky and difficult to use.

Apple Care + a screen protector might be my best option. I'm accident-prone!

I have an Apple Watch (since last May) and I love it. I also wear an UP fitness monitor all of the time, and I just tell Myfitnesspal to take my steps from my watch, not from my UP. It works well for me. (I like the sleep tracking on the UP). I have the aluminum case version, and I have worn it pretty continuously (with bracelets) and the crystal looks great - no visible scratches or issues on the crystal or case.
