not feeling madonna's ads or those bags...it is the beads...not feeling it...anything sprouse and I am in lvoe...it really freshened up LV for spring summer...feeling the lvoe for roses and graffiti right now...tired of other things though....

I am so glad I am not the only one who hates Madonna representing LV. She should be representing calamari not Kalahari. It just seems 'fishy' that they chose her instead of someone of impressive quality like Michelle LaVaughn Robinson *****, the First Lady--and Madonna is neither first nor a lady.

For me, I've gone the other way. I started really getting into Coach and got a few bags and accessories from the 2007-2008 collection. Coach keeps churning out new styles each time. Recently, I started getting a little tired and decided to venture into LV territory. Some friends congratulated me and some other ones say they're happy where they are (with Coach). When I started carrying my LV Neverfull, within a few days I was deeply missing my Coach and it was not a subtle feeling. These two lines are so different so comparing and contrasting between the two gave me some distance to actually learn to appreciate each line without getting so close that I forget why I fell in love with them.

This reminds me of the question: How can you have your cake and eat it too?

The answer, of course is: Get two cakes.

In my case, have Coach and LV too.

I too am not crazy about Madonna as representing LV in U.S. advertisements, although she has done some wonderful charitable work with private organizations as well as for our troops. At least she is a proud American, something Michelle ***** omitts to having a problem with. ( I do not think I will ever forget her words and yet she's the first lady)

I think LV does not need a "person" to sell their product, I think the product can sell itself.

Lv is great, and I totally appreciate every single one of my bags .. But the mens collection, to me atleast, seems to be getting a little dull.. Nothing new, or really exciting .
:/

I quite like this season's men's collection, but yes it is very plain and it's way out of my price range.

Maybe my opinion is a little too harsh since I come from a younger generation, but I do not think Madonna is all that pretty- but then again, like some of the models on the runway aren't either. I guess you're trying to sell the bag NOT the model, and it helps the bag out A LOT more if it stands next to something less attractive:p

It's okay to feel that way! Just take a break from LV, you will go back. I change out all the time so don't get tired of the same brand. I always go back to LV!

U found your love back!

personally, I was going ga-ga over Graffiti NF but somehow by the time it is out, I lost the excitement. On the other hand, I wasn't sold by what I saw on SS09 runway but madonna's ad with kalahari changed my opinion of the bag. Not everyone loves Madonna's style nor does she strike me as a beauty, but hey, she is 50???

I have to admit that kalahari is growing on me.

I was like that last year and started buying Chanel and thought my LV was too busy but after carrying quiet Chanel bags I started really missing my fun noisy LV bags!

Last week, if someone had asked me, I would emphatically say NO! But yesterday I was shopping and underwhelmed at the LV store. Maybe it was that boutique, but I was just "meh" the whole time.

I still enjoy the bags I do have. Maybe this means I'm ready to be content with my meager collection for now, instead of looking for my next bag - which inevitably means I don't enjoy what I have now and just bought.

Does anyone else go through this? Do you find yourself taking a hiatus and coming back to LV?

Yes, I am also getting more and more tired of LV. The first bag I bought 20 years ago. At that time, LV was something very special and only some spcecial ladies had these bags and knew where to buy it. Now you see new bags every month and it is getting like an inflation. The quality has lost and the prices increase at the same time. Special orders like a longer shoulder strap are not longer possible. So I think I will say goodbye to LV.

I think I'm *almost* ready to start using inexpensive bags that have more of a punch and statement. Not that I regret or don't adore my bags, but I think I want to be able to afford more of them, and have more variety in the pattern. And I don't have it in me to get addicted to another brand.

Maybe I should complete my collection before I move away from LV completely though. :p

For me, I just wanted the classic basics from LV. I got them. :yahoo: I took all of last year to get the stuff I have wanted and achieved that. Now I can enjoy them and not have that 'wandering eye' effect. :sneaky:

Do I get tired of LV? Yes, it can be dull at times carrying the same thing over and over again. That's why I rotate my bags with my other brand named bags. Then when I return to my LVs, I feel fresh and excited again.
