I have been shopping on Etsy since 2015. Never had an issue with an item where I felt compelled to return or complain. For 7 years. Beginning last October, I have consistently received items that are overpriced, fake, cheaply made, poor quality, broken etc. Of my last 10 purchases 7 have been garbage. The other 3 have been such amazing quality. Anyone else notice this? Anyone sell on there? It seems like the site went from sellers who take pride in making unique products to crap from a flea market.

I love Etsy. I’m currently waiting for a handmade porcelain mug to arrive. Last month I bought some vintage tourmaline earrings, which exceeded my expectations. I’ve bought handmade and vintage items from UK sellers, and I’ve only ever had positive experiences. If it’s a handcrafted item I check to ensure the seller is the original maker. I think there are sellers importing stuff and selling it on, I avoid those.

Oh yes I love buying on Etsy! Recently, I've bought a vintage 1920s hardwood and gilt picture frame and vintage Celine scarves all amazing quality and value. I also browse on Etsy for vintage books.

Vintage and handmade things are harder to find in the sea of mass-produced products these days. Filters are thy friend.

I did have a seller not send a handmade item and ghost me, so I had to report them to Etsy and request a refund.

I've been selling on Etsy for years. I love it. It allows me to sell my artwork, stickers, etc. on there. I mainly use it for my art. With that said, I've also been buying from Etsy for years. I utilize many different sellers and I have never been disappointed. I buy from a lot of artists, like myself, and love their work once I receive it. It's been a great experience for me as a seller and a buyer.

Had my first weird experience on Etsy after entirely good ones. The guy selling the tee shirts I ordered simply wasn't selling on Etsy anymore! I didn't know this when ordering, of course, and in fact there were recent feedbacks. Etsy notified me right away and themselves issued a refund instantly. Very uncool, but fortunately Etsy customer support was on it.

I used to have great experiences but now it’s almost like Amazon with the items now being overpriced cheap stuff. The art items have been great but I’m careful about who I buy from. It used to be all handmade items but now it’s a ton of mass produced junk. It also takes FOREVER to receive anything from Etsy. I’ve come close to deleting the app and my account recently. Customer service has always been great though. At least so far….

I know what you mean. I've noticed that it does take a long time for items to be shipped from Etsy sellers. That's why I'm pretty conscientious about shipping items out as soon as I can to eliminate that worry from my customers. But it is frustrating.

I've been selling on Etsy for years. There's masses of people trying to make a quick buck by pretending to make handmade when actually it's been mass produced. They steal photos, lie about their location, etc. Etsy is incapable of removing all of them but they are trying... As a buyer I never had a bad experience but I tend to buy from UK only.
I sell knitted socks and mittens www.firtreeknitwear.etsy.com

I buy on Etsy, but I only buy clearly handmade items. I’ve bought custom made silver jewelries and felt handbags. Neither were “cheap,” as they are truly handmade items. I would never buy used luxury brand name stuff on Etsy though.
