Anyone regret buying pave or full circle bands?

Hey op hope you don't mind me chiming in and wondering if shared prong is more solid than pave? Or does anyone know? I have been thinking of getting pave type and come up with shared prong with larger diamond and therefore more sparkly, but not sure about those tiny diamonds falling out!

My understanding is that pave is only bead set, whereas shared prong is prong set (obviously), so prong set would be more secure.

However, prong set exposes the girdles of the diamonds so if you wear a shared prong ring next to any other band, that band will get damaged and fairly quickly. The damage to the band is not so bad but if you have overhanging prongs on your engagement ring it can start eating into those. (Not to mention the engagement diamond's prongs bash against your shared ring's prongs and weaken those as well in the process) Most people wear a spacer ring to protect their engagement ring, or wear shared prong rings on the other hand by itself.

That's why I am not going to get shared prong - even though I think they are the most beautiful. Pave is the next best option - even though these are apparently the least secure setting for diamonds so I don't think I'm ever going to win completely with this decision!!!

I have a Tacori half pave wedding band set in platinum and a platinum Ering also with half pave set in platinum. No problems and no stones falling out- I've had them for 10 years.

I have a full eternity platinum prong-set diamond Cartier ring. I cannot wear it for work due to cross-infection regulations so I only wear it occasionally, using my platinum wedding band as a spacer with my platinum set e-rings. I must say it can get uncomfortable with the prongs poking my fingers, and the SA did say the diamonds can be lost but so far it's been more than 10 years ( of babying) and it is fine. I guess this design is not terribly hardy so you need to take care. I believe Cartier has discontinued this setting and that was how I got this at sale. Can't complain!

I am very hard on my rings so I am very careful when i wear them as RHR. Never lost a diamond except on a trinity rolling ring: yg, wg and rg eternity rings with pave diamonds. When I took it in for replacement of one missing diamond the jeweler offered to tighten the others so I agreed.

Well when it was done they charged me for 3 rings not one. It was my error of course since i considered it one ring LOL...They were very kind and gave me a courtesy discount and only charged for the diamond replacement and one ring for diamond tightening.

I have never lost a diamond on my other diamond eternity rings tho.
