Anyone pay cash at Chanel

I saw it at a stand alone boutique US and I think they use a marker to check for counterfeit bills. But I also saw someone purchase a large total amount at a coach store with cash also and I knew this person was a tourist that wanted to use my coupon for a discount. I use mostly cash when traveling domestically. But I would never carry extreme large amounts of cash on me for safety reasons traveling internationally.

I paid cash to Chanel while travelling to Japan. It took 20 minutes for them to count

I saw a woman pay for a jacket in cash this week— $7000+ in a US boutique.
I was also asked if I would be paying cash. I think I might have a panic attack if I carried that much money on me.

I see a lot of international travellers paying in cash. I was surprised last week seeing an SA walking to the store room with a thick stash of bills, just because I’m so used to paying by card.

I saw it twice already in boutiques this year. Two SAs were counting bills using the counting machine both times. I know one purchase was for a black classic flap (this was back in summer in a USA boutique) but I am not sure of the other purchase. Maybe it was a CF or a ready to wear but it was a lot of cash and the clients were tourists. I was just fascinated because I cannot fathom carrying around so much money!

Before the pandemic, yes. These days, it's debit card for everything.

I have done that one time for small classic in US ( Chanel in Neiman ) no any problem just need a bit time for your SA to check and count every single bill.

UK cash limit is now only £2000 per transaction, something to do with money laundering my SA said.
