Mr. AITB really does love his watches doesn't he. Do you really want another watch for your birthday, or is this all his idea? :thinkin:

What does YOUR heart desire for your big 40?:hbeat:

Personally, I prefer the one in steel vs. moonphase

Fortunately you have a broad collection: dressy, sporty etc so you aren't filling a need. I would say that Breguet is the pinnacle of watch making. Many consider the brand the absolute finest shadowed closely by Jaeger and Patek but of a far higher overall aesthetic. You dont appear to own a moonphase and a moonphase is a very important component of any collection. I love this watch and I believe it adds to your collection and duplicates nothing.
Spot on................

I have been thinking about what type of watch I would want for my 40th. My DH is pushing me towards a Breguet and after some research, I found one I like a lot. Please give me your opinions, good, bad or otherwise. ;)
I own currently, two J12 chronographs(white and black), Ladies Datejust oyster(ss,platinum diial, gold fluted bezel), YG Rolex ladies presidential, VCA classique Wg/diamonds(small watch), VCA alhambra diamond bracelet watch, VCA alhambra medium, and some older watches that were handed down to me(manual wind VCA WG diamond, skagen, Tag).....

Breguet
Not much more needs to be said. They are one of the oldest brands, and build top end luxury watches.
If you want something comparable look into Blanpain, same prestige and quality level.

I hope to be able to see both. The Steel version is a bit larger. DH thinks the more complications a watch has, the better. lol

In the end, I would trade all my jewelery for a pregnancy. If not, I strive to be the best Aunt in the world-always.

Men and their complications! :graucho:

Sounds like an amazing decision to have to make - I love moon-phase, but the deco design of the steel is gorgeous! I am looking forward to seeing what you decide.

As for the latter - a child will be lucky to have you. Blessings do seem to take their time, don't they? (a good reason to enjoy the jewelry now)

Thank you!! I am trying to learn more about watches from Dh, WHEN I listen. ;)

Hi, ALLinTHEbag!
What a great watch collections you have!!! My dh also says I should buy a Brequet if I want one! The problem is I don't want a watch very much.:D I am not a watch person. But, I have a BLANCPAIN (recommended by my dh and SA at the department store). Mechanical wathces are fabulous!! They said.:smile1: (I am not sure yet. LOL)

LOL Aren't they though? I have only been married 8 years and I am still trying to figure my DH out. :smile1:

I am torn between the two. The steel is not in stores yet but it is on order. Thank you for your kind words. They are much appreciated. :hugs:

I have heard that Blancpain's are the best of the best! You must post a pic. I have not seen one. :smile1:

ALLinTHEBAG - I think the Reine de Naples would be a nice addition to your collection. Moonphase sounds divine but I'm not a fan of complicated watches, I find winding the Rolex a nuisance as would rather pick up a watch and wear although a watch winder would solve that problem. Changing date, gosh, coupled with the moonphase, I'll stress out even more anyway, that's my opinion.

Check out the all white with alligator strap,it's very nice. I'm not sure about the price difference with the satin strap you posted. It's priced at USD38.5K over here.

I have the Breguet Reine de Naples with the moon phase in white gold and it is my favorite watch (for obvious reasons!)

My husband also likes watches and complications and taught me a lot about such matters. I think the complications on the Reine de Naples such as the power reserve and moon phase are useful and add to the aesthetics of the watch. In general, I love the design. No other watch looks anything like it and it is very elegant.

I am not a huge fan of the Reine de Naples in stainless steel, although I have not seen it in person. I hear it is a rather large watch. In fact, the woman at the Tourbillon boutique said it would probably be too big for me.

In my opinion I would get the white gold Reine de Naples because it is so timeless and elegant. Good luck with your choice, it sounds like a wonderful present!
