I have been thinking about what type of watch I would want for my 40th. My DH is pushing me towards a Breguet and after some research, I found one I like a lot. Please give me your opinions, good, bad or otherwise. ;)
I own currently, two J12 chronographs(white and black), Ladies Datejust oyster(ss,platinum diial, gold fluted bezel), YG Rolex ladies presidential, VCA classique Wg/diamonds(small watch), VCA alhambra diamond bracelet watch, VCA alhambra medium, and some older watches that were handed down to me(manual wind VCA WG diamond, skagen, Tag).....

Fortunately you have a broad collection: dressy, sporty etc so you aren't filling a need. I would say that Breguet is the pinnacle of watch making. Many consider the brand the absolute finest shadowed closely by Jaeger and Patek but of a far higher overall aesthetic. You dont appear to own a moonphase and a moonphase is a very important component of any collection. I love this watch and I believe it adds to your collection and duplicates nothing.

Thank you Hermesaholic, :smile1: I need to try it on but I am afraid if I do...I may just bring it home. I still have three months of 39...

You know my thoughts, I covet that watch and have always wanted a Breguet. I have never liked Patek. too stark IMO and Jaeger is not my thing. I love the workmanship on every component of the Breguet. I inherited two Breguet pocketwatches from the late 1800's and they are works of art inside and out.

I used to carry around my great grandfathers pocketwatch that he brought over from Europe. I think my mom has it....how wonderful that you have two. I will have to ask her the nest time I visit. I am not sure who made it but I loved it when I was younger. I almost typed young. lol

:useless:

I am obsessed with antique watches, and a Breguet pocket watch is one of my fantasy pieces.

I am with Ame - I'd love a Breguet. But I think DF would look better with one on his arm than mine :graucho:. One day I hope to get him one! Or a Patek! But I agree with Hermesaholic in that Breguet is the most beautiful out JLC and PP.
