Anyone have or want the Foulard?

I think the whole Salma Hayek picture was taken unflatteringly. She is carrying the version with knotted detail all scrunched up, in front of her. The beauty in this bag is its long silhouette and sensual folds. She is carrying it like a sack.

Personally, I really liked the knotted detail at first. In the photo, the knot adds too much complexity to the outfit. Now, I think it adds to much complexity to an outfit. The outfit needs to be very plain to balance the complexity of the folds and knot. In the metal detail version, the plain metal handle balances the folds very well and also, it does not allow itself to be held like a sack.

I received my foulard (metal handle edition).

The metal handle is comfortable. The bag sits snugly on my shoulder BUT I have square shoulders. Hand carried, it does not drag on 1.54m frame. It is extremely light (like wearing a cloud). I like the look of it (laid back and casual). It is also unique.

It is quite small (think mini). It fits a cardholder, airpods and phone. Not suitable for public transport but if you drive and need to carry few things, then it is a real fun bag to wear.

Thanks for posting the detailed photos. I don’t understand the back side of the flaps….it doesn’t look like suede but seems to have some sort of finish or is it a lining? Sorry ladies, I’m not loving this almost $5000 bag.

It is simply the other side of the leather piece. The drapes are as thin as silk fabric. I guess that is where the skill and artistry in splitting the leather is required. This design will be hard to dupe.

It is too small for everyday wear. It will work as a statement piece when out to the theatre or a dinner (use in lieu of a small clutch).

It sits at the border of haute couture. It is impractical but not quite. It is an art piece but not quite.

Here is mine. It is a dark chocolate brown. I don’t think it was ever popular (or mainstream) enough to be date-able. Designs like Jodie, which everyone carries, can be recognisably of a certain era (date-able). This one was not produced in very large quantities. Those who don’t know cannot tell it is BV. This one has IYKYK appeal.

Even Birkins and Kellys are recognisable. Fakes abound as a result, leading to eye fatigue.

No fakes for this one.

It is a very impractical bag… fits nothing but essentials, but it is such a fun bag, so uncommon, and such an oddball design, that I love it. So far, I have not come across any other bag done using such sheer leather.

My bags come and go. I tire of many quickly… This one… ahhhh… this one! I love!

Yeah, I figured there weren’t dupes of it because it wasn’t as popular. That’s one reason I loved it so much plus the uniqueness of it. It’s just so impractical bc it’s the size of a mini Jodie and I guess that’s what makes it lighter but yanno… wanna be able to fit a tad more.

It would fit over a coat but I would not wear it in winter. The metal handle is too cold. 😂😂
