Anyone have or want the Foulard?

I love the shape of this but I'm worried the handle would be uncomfortable to actually wear on the shoulder. They do show the model carrying it in her hands, but it's listed as a shoulder bag. Realistically, it would be a hassle to carry something this large in my hands for too long and I would want to hang it on my shoulder or at least my forearm.

What are you lovely folks thinking? I'm thinking maybe it could make sense during the winter when you'd have a coat on anyway, so that your shoulder or forearm would have sleeves to protect them from that bar. Or is it more comfortable than it looks?

The model looks so beautiful holding it too, with that cream dress and gorgeous black shoes. I imagine her at some summer thing, holding that bag, which is big enough to have brought a bathing suit 'just in case' but then I think about her having to shift it from one hand to the other while holding drinks and shaking hands, so she has to put that metal bar on her shoulder or her slim forearm and the fantasy vanishes as I imagine that handle digging into her from the weight of the bag and its contents. Also, for shopping, obviously one needs both hands for proper shopping so again, you'd need to put it on your shoulder or forearm. Hopefully someone will come on here and say that it is really a lot more comfortable than it looks!

I have not seen it but I honestly can’t imagine a metal bar being comfortable to wear on the shoulder.
Also, don’t forget that model is probably 5’11” and the bag comes down to her ankles. I would think that on anyone 5’7” and under, this will be dragging on the ground when carried in the hand.

That's a good point. AND she's wearing heels. Definitely a bag to look at in person before buying.

Heck I’m so short, it would be dragging on the ground if I carried it on my shoulder! :amuse:

As pretty as the metal detail is, I agree it would probably be uncomfortable. It's hard to tell the length of the bag against the body. Salma Hayek wore the Foulard with the knot detail at the Winter 23 show. I grabbed the photo from the Celebs thread. She's 5'-2" tall, and it does not drag on her. She is wearing heels, however. I would be interested to see mod shots from anyone who gets it or tries it on in the store.

... and being the wife of one of BV's corporate owners, she probably had it made/customized. :)

The handle drop is 27 cm. The bag is 35 cm. Let’s give it a conservative 70 cm from top of bag to bottom. I am 5 ft 4 inches. If I crook 70 cm from my arm, it ends at mid-calf.

The F/W 23 collection features sardine bags with blown glass handles. I wonder if they will do foulards with blown glass handles. I would prefer that to metal.

The item has not even reached the shops but online, they show only one unit left. If this is so, will shops get it?

I don't love the way it looks in the Salma Hayek photo above. The flaps are askew and the sihlouette is completely different. It looks kid of sloppy to me. I guess it really would be a must for me to see it in person so that I could see how it moves.

I assume the stores must have some reserved for themselves, wouldn't they? Not sure how that works tbh.

I think it's an interesting, creative piece - with the leather handle, not the metal one. The movement of the leather 'sides' is intriguing and sensual. I could see owning this bag.
I feel the same way - the movement is what makes it interesting. Currently, this is probably the one piece I might consider buying new in the boutique. There are others, but they need to hit the secondary market at lower prices before I'll buy.
