Anyone else received consistently perfect pieces?

Yes, Glazing on 2 Zoe wallets, Button on a Victorine wallet and Stitching, Glazing on 2 Speedy 20.
Put me off the Speedy 20; bought the Victorine again as it was to replace a stolen one, may try again with Zoe.

Since my first LV purchase in 2019, I have only returned the Graceful because I did not like how it looked on my body and a bandeau because it looked like screen printing. All other bags, SLGs snd silk scarves have been in impeccable condition.

There has been an instance the SA attempted to sell me a speedy 25b de with ripples in the side leather that I turned down.

My bags and slg’s have all been great with a few exceptions. The jungle NF from a few years ago was horrible - the bottom was stitched to the side so there was a huge curve/dimple in the bag. It was so obvious I can only imagine no one checked it before it went out. It wouldn’t even sit/stand up right it was so flawed. Fast return. And I liked it less in person than I thought I would. And I ordered a Nigo sling bag online, the bottom of it was not sewn properly so a big dimple you could see when wearing the bag. Found a lovely SA with one and he inspected for me, I returned online version (nonexchange) and bought from an SA. Exchanges are a mess at LV, so I no longer do them esp with HTF items, I either return and do without or buy with my SA so he can pre-inspect (air I can locate the piece).

Otherwise I have received good quality items. I will say for some if the end of a bag like a speedy doesn’t align perfectly they view it as a flaw, but certain configurations of canvas would never align that way. Now if a major seam that showed on a flat piece doesn't align, that is a flaw I would likely return. But those small unavoidable alignment issues don’t bother me.

Interesting question OP - and I also think sometimes those of us at tpf are more obsessive (or we wouldn’t be here  ) and we egg each other on with tiny differences that seem like quality issues and they are not. Maybe some of the worry about quality has more to do with do we really like a particular piece and is it worth the $$$. My answer as LV has raised prices to the point of sheer laughability will likely be “no“ more often moving forward. I look at some of their recent bags that are now $3k+ and I think “I can buy an H Evelyne for that!” - more timeless, way better quality always and it will last, and hold its value. Time to enjoy my lovely collection and rotate through it.

PS I know quality is the focus here, but I do think price/value feed into that too. LV has raised prices on pieces that 2 years ago cost $1000 less, like the MPA that was $1590 at release and is now $2590 two years later, which is sheer gouging as the quality and bag hasn’t changed. H’s CEO addressed their recent price increase (on average 3.5%) as a trust with their customers. He said the increase matches their true cost, and they don’t want to take advantage. With LV doing a 22% increase on some items it’s really hard not to view it as “a because they can“ and not really anything like reality and good business principle. Sorry, it just bothers me as so many companies have used the pandemic to price gouge loyal customers. With luxury items we can choose not to buy if it bothers us, but it’s happening with must haves too, which really hits where it hurts for so many. Now back to topic.
