Michael Kors Anyone Else Considering a Ban for 2016?

Ok so I fell off the bag wagon. I was good the other day when returning some shoes. I looked and was even in line with a bag but put it back then left. I was very pleased with myself. So today I had to shop for a baby gift and started window shopping again. Well, I got a bag and a few shoes. The first picture is MMK bags in ballet pink with silver hardware. I couldn't decide between the two as I love the shape of the right bag (I think it's called Selby) but love the leather on the Riley. So I left to think it over. Stopped by Tory Burch and picked up this quilted style. Hello it has gold hardware, lol! I'm not usually into quilting but I found this color so unique and the leather is so soft and squishy. My first Tory Burch and I feel good about it although I must say the prices are a bit higher than most contemporary brands. The service was impeccable. Still thinking about those other two bags, so darn cute! I will consider this bag as an early birthday gift. Thanks for letting me share my long story. Back to trying this ban island.

Oh love the MK's! the TB is really nice... super different detailing. Great shoes too.

I don't understand why we want so many bags lol my husband has only one black wallet. I'm doing well not wanting to get anything.

Well firstly while this place is fun, it's not the best influence. lol. Secondly, sometimes as time goes by what once worked doesn't. I know that is why i changed mine but basically went 4mths with the one so i am happy with that...

Oh I know how this feels! I always tell myself I won't want anything else but once I see something I want I can't get it out of my head. I love the ballet Riley! But I like the color of the Shelby more. This is why I returned the ballet Camille, as it looked too light to me for a ballet pink. I've been obsessing over a black Riley with silver hardware, and I also can't stop thinking of another coach bag, either the rhyder or Mickie. I really don't need anything though!

I also love that Tory burch!!! I love TB bags but they are pricey. I find them to be good quality. But I just returned my 2 Tory burch bags that I bought in December as I couldn't justify them.

I'm still waiting on 2 coach bags that I bought from the outlet sale, which come on Tuesday. I hope I don't fall in love with either of them but if I do, I plan to keep only one.

I also want to sell my coach minetta and Rebecca minkoff Cupid as I'm not using them.

I do think clearing out bags you do not use is a good step, no one needs to keep ones that don't/won't be used they just clutter things up. I also find you have to be cautious buying certain bags just because of the color/pattern ensure the bag itself works ... def some lovely styles/colors/patterns out there but not all styles of bags work for everyone.

Plus the final one it's okay to like a bag and not own it. I like so many, but don't have the ability nor use for so many. So i stick to admiring. I am fortunate(or unfortunate lol) that I am not generally fond of switching bags so that curbs my buying big time.

So I sold a Coach bag.. bought a dusty rose Rhea backpack preowned but then sold it and made $40 from it. I thought it would be convenient in conjunction with my diaper bag but it's a bit too small. I ended up getting an electric blue outlet hamilton with silver hardware ($75) and a MK vanilla monogram jet set backpack ($80). So I pretty much made money by selling those 2 bags and buying cheaper bags.

I also want to sell a Rebecca Minkoff and hopefully get $200 from it. If the MK vanilla backpack is not up to my standards I will sell that off too. I think I am safe for now haha but I will keep returning to this thread when I need motivation...

Wow nice job! Where do you sell your bags? I want to try selling for the first time. I was thinking maybe Poshmark? Thoughts?

I use Poshmark, Mercari and EBay! Mercari doesn't have a sellers fee which is nice. Posh takes 20%. I prefer eBay since people don't lowball you as much. But if I can't sell them on eBay, and if I want to get rid of them quicker I sell on posh or mercari (both apps). For more expensive stuff I stick with eBay and Tradesy. eBay has better protection imo than posh or merc. In the past when I've sold Balenciagas I also used Bonanza, but not sure if that's as common anymore!

Good to know! I guess there are pluses and minuses for each site. Seems like the more you sell the better acquainted you get with all of it. I'm either going to go with ebay or Poshmark. I was kind of leaning towards Poshmark, but I don't know for sure now lol.

I will say that sometimes it's easier to sell on Posh than ebay, but people try to lowball a lot. Just stick to your guns on your price and you will be fine and make sure to account for the 20% fee. I also like Posh because of the shipping labels - you just choose from the prepaid shipping costs and you get a prepaid shipping label. With ebay you have to either ship it yourself or enter in the weight and dimensions of the package before you list it. It's a bit of a hassle but a lot of people use eBay and the protection is great.

The buyer who purchased my Coach bag just cancelled on me...grrrrr..so now I had to relist it everywhere. There are some smudges on the suede sides so I just got a suede eraser, hoping I can remove the dirt so that I can hopefully reach more interested buyers!

Thanks so much for the info! Now I have to work on getting the bags ready to sell. It's on the to-do list lol.

Bummer about the bag. Hopefully the erase will work.

How long do you usually give a bag to sell before you switch sites to sell on?

In regards to this thread...I'm not on a ban, per se. I'm just being more selective and purchasing less. I have a few bags that I will be putting up for sale soon (thanks to Pinkalicious for the tips!). Great bags, but no longer work for me. I've been trying to rotate through some of my bags to see if they still work for me, or if it's time to move them along. As long as I love the bag, use it, and have space for it then I will keep it. Just because I love a bag doesn't mean I need it/will work for me. I have to keep that in perspective when I look at all these beauties on tpf. :smile1:
