Rubber soles by my favorite local cobbler for Orans and oasis sandals bc if you only do rubber taps, the edges look crappy. If you are lazy and don’t mind living dangerously, there are stick on exterior rough pads that can adhere to the outer sole. Or simply run a metal key lightly across the outer soles. For sandals where the soles edge is very visible, it would be difficult for a cobbler to fix ( for boots or a shoe where the edge is less visible, there is a product called edge dressing, but that’s best for black or dark brown shoes or boots)
