Any of you NOT treat your leather trim?

I haven't treated my speedy with anything. I don't use mine in the rain, so it's never been wet. I also carry a plastic bag just in case.
Last week I met a girl who told me she's been taking hers out in the rain since she got it one year ago. The vachetta was really dark, so maybe it just ages it faster. It looked worn, which some people say the speedy should look "lived in". I think it can be broken in but still look good.

I haven't treated my Recital, but I don't take it out in the rain either. I clean and condition my Coach and other bags but anything with vachetta I leave alone. I'm too scared I would spray it wrong and hurt it! :amuse:

I just got a Speedy 25 on eBay -- I sprayed it with Shining Monkey as soon as I unwrapped it. It has a nice pale apricot patina. I don't want it to get darker any sooner than it has to, and I am paranoid about the tops of the handles getting darker faster than the rest of the trim. Right now the patina is perfectly even. The SM didn't change the color at all, or the feel of the leather. I just feel a bit more relaxed knowing it is protected.

I haven't treated any of my bags. My speedys look great, the only problems I've had is with my Shirley. I got water on it, I don't remember how exactly but I know it was because I did something klutzy. Now it has a fairly big water mark on the front of it and another on the back which sucks. Hopefully once it gets darker it won't be as noticable. I don't think I would ever treat my LV's though, the way it ages is part of the experiance.

never treated...... trusting in lv to have superior product! and they do. no problems with mine..... while in the patina-ing phase... may get wet, dirty or what-ever.... all works out to be beautiful. rain or shine. cold or hot. its all good.

I have never cleaned/treated any of my bags...simply because I don't use them enough, haha. I'm going to start treating my "everyday" bags though. I find that blue coloring from my jeans tends to rub onto the vachetta handles =\ Hopefully spraying Shining Monkey on my new bags will prevent that from happening. I also purchased some Apple Garde cleaner/conditioner to clean my dog's LV collar. Now that is some DIRTY ASS patina that I don't ever want to see on my bags...

i go au naturale on all my pieces. I like the new white leather, but I also love the patina leather.. My cellphone strap has an amazing patina, and I can hardly read the stamps inside (date code, etc) but still so pretty. hehe. and pretty dirty too.

my abbesses has tons of watermarks/etc.. and when i got it, i was such a dumb kid, i got a pen mark, and applied some water to get it out.. only to find that it darkens the leather some more! haha. oh well, live and learn!
