I'm still waiting to hear feedback from more people on the SO issue. I'm in Australia and my SM confirmed they will cost about 40% more. Also one of the mods heard from SAs at the Madison Ave store that the prices are also going up by around the same figure too... So that's 2 different sources in 2 different countries mentioning it.

However, I've been watching the SO thread and people are talking about being offered SOs for this year but no one else has mentioned this so-called price increase (and that is the first thing my SM mentioned to me when offering me one). If people are being offered SOs and there has been a change in the pricing policy, it doesn't make sense that they aren't being told about it!?!

From that thread it *seems* like SO orders might be opening up in a few weeks, so I guess we might hear more about it then? :shrugs: :shrugs: I don't know what to think! It's all very confusing

^ MsHermesAU, the SO talks & orders have opened at FSH since last month.

My SA didn't say anything about a 40% hike in SOs, but my priority was asking about timetables since I think I win the record here on tpf for longest waiting time for SOs (3 years plus) LOL.

I can ask my SA when I speak with him this weekend. I would be very surprised if it was as high as 40% though. Imagine paying 40% AND the retail price of the SO by the time you receive it (about 30% higher from the time you placed it years ago!)

It is very confusing which is why I asked. If I'm ever offered an SO, I'd want to know ahead of time if there is a premium tied to one. If it's 40% differential, I'd have to pass!

How interesting! Thank you so much for chiming in. If SO orders are opening soon (or are already open as Leah suggests), surely the pricing will need to be decided on before that, so people can decide whether they want to pay the premium? :wacko: Fingers crossed either way they decide against it!

I agree! That would put a SO birkin above $20k here :faint: People still pay around/ even more than that for standard birkins from resellers, so maybe some would still think it's still worth the premium for a unique bag? I don't think I could pay that though, even for an amazing SO. It is just beyond justification. People who managed to get SOs before this year will be laughing (and sadly I'm not one of those people)!

Thank you so much for your input Leah! I'm sorry to hear your SOs have taken so long :cry: An extra 40% on top of the price would be pretty ridiculous, and make SOs VERY exclusive indeed, as I can't imagine many people would want to pay that premium. Then again maybe that's what H is aiming for, to make SOs even more "exclusive".

Does the 40% apply to new SOs only starting this year? Or for all pending SOs as well? I hope it will not happen at all. Leah can you please clarify this with your SA? Thank you so much.

OK NEVERMIND!!!! i just found the price for the Kelly 35 i paid last year is $9450, not $9250.... wow i had no idea only $200 price difference between a K32 and K35, while it's almost $1000 price difference between B30 and B35??!!! :weird:
