Thank you so much for reporting that manager. I actually made a return for an online item I purchase this summer and was told about the new policy.

I actually went to the same outlet store and was able to make a return 2 days before you. I don't know what happened between those two days.

But this was the first time I heard about the new policy and was immediately rubbed the wrong way because I was told during the summer that I could make a return of outlet items at the outlet at anytime. (I had wanted to make the return at the full price store for merchandise card but they said they couldn't do it, pshhh what ever.)

I need to gather the items I purchased as gifts that didn't work out and return them as soon as possible. I will definitely avoid the Locust Grove location though.

I am sorry you went through that but I am thankful you reported the manager and gave us all a heads up!

I agree that coach has not done a great job of informing customers of the new policy, especially if you haven't been to a store lately. I would have had no idea if I wasn't on this forum. Maybe a mass email to everyone notifying them would have been helpful but we all know how crazy coach's email database is!

Phew. I went to the outlets in Dawsonville and my returns were done without a hitch. I had three separate online orders. The SA did it swiftly and without "comments". Though, he probably assumed I knew about the new return policy because I was there to make so many at one time(you know to make the grace period).

What a relief though. I was worried they would give me grief.

Yeah, Dawsonville always has their stuff together. How I miss that place!

Update.

I headed up to the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta to do a few returns.

So the associate was super nice and returned the iPad cases for me. I had the receipt for that batch so there were no problems.

Then I returned an iPad case that didn't have a receipt and she swiped my card and looked through allllll of my transactions made in the card and found it! She made the return on my credit card.

Next batch also did not have a receipt but she couldn't find it in the system. She and another associate advised me to try to find the receipt at home or give it off as a gift because I would probably just get $3.00 each. I appreciated their candor.

(P.S. If you are looking to buy an iPad mini case, go check them out. I returned them and they priced them at $39.99 immediately. They are having a 50% off your entire purchase and 40% off clearance item. So the iPad mini cases(simple and was part of full price store inventory) is going to be super cheap.

I went into one of the retail stores today to see if I could get a replacement hangtag for my Hamptons Caryall.

First off, the woman referred to me as sir, which I am very clearly not (and maybe I'm too sensitive, but I REALLY hate it when people do that to me). Secondly, she said that I would have to have my bag shipped in to Coach to be repaired in order to get a replacement hang tag (Um, WT_? Why am I supposed to pay $20 shipping to send my bag somewhere just so they can attach a hang tag to it and send it back to me?)

I have 2 Coach stores in my city: one in a mall for more middle class people and one in a mall for wealthy people. The wealthy people store has treated me well every time I went in there, but this middle class store is so rude!

Seems like there's a huge difference between stores and how they treat their customers...and what information they seem to know.

^ Although there is no exception for them being rude, the stores dont just carry replacement parts for old bags. My store actually does carry random hangtags, straps, tassels, form damaged bags, but that is not normal, and I have never come across that at any other store.

Wow, so rude! Honestly, like it's coming off their paycheck or something. I'm glad you made a complaint and hopefully the manager will be dealt with.

I love the SAs at my outlet (Niagara Falls, NY). Every one has been unfailingly polite and friendly, and never give me a hassle when I return stuff.

It has been pretty normal in my experience, at least in the outlets. I can always get a hangtag there. I've seen people get straps as well. One time I bought a bag and when I got home I realized the hangtag was missing. They sent it to me through UPS since I didn't want to drive back.

At my FP store once, I complained that most of the keychains don't come with a clip and the SA went into the back and found me a ring with a screw closure, like the kind on a classic Willis. Another time, also at FP, I came in with a broken turnlock. Instead of sending it in for repair, the SA replaced the turnlock for me on the spot.

As far as I know, you still can call the 800 number for Coach and they will send you a hangtag for free.

It's like night and day though how the two different Coach stores handled the problem. The other store I went to apologized and said she couldn't give me a matching leather one, but since my hardware was gold, would I mind having a gold one instead? Then she just went into the back and handed me one for free. A far cry from $20 shipping lady!

Think I might just get mine from online from now on when I need them so I don't have to deal with the inconsistency. I hate asking for free things IRL to begin with.

I have a FOS item that I bought month ago that I need to return. I only have today or does it go through January? THANKS!

For items bought after the new policy you have 60 days to return. For items bought before the new policy you have until January 18th or January 30th to return (date changes depending on who you talk to at Coach).

Since you bought this after the new policy, you would have 60 days to return.

HTH!

Unless you purchased during the "holiday" period beginning 10/27, then you have until 1/18. Check the bottom of your receipt. If you purchased during that time, it will say it on your receipt...it's the 2nd paragraph above the bar code.

Edit: this is what my in-store receipt says. Not sure about the FOS purchases.
