Am I too picky? Is a Cartier ring supposed to be 100% perfect?

Just got my Cartier e-ring delivered but not 100% happy.

First of all, it almost messed up the shipping date. I confirmed with SA himself the date to ship then I found out from the boutique he was off on that day!

Second, the red box came in a yellow bag with a rubber band on it. No wrapping, no seal. When I opened the box, the ring was fell out of the slot where it was supposed to be.

Third, I told the SA to engrave on the side of the ring. But it turns out the engraving is on the inner cycle. It results the carat weight missing.

Last, the ring is not perfect rounded.

To be honest, I don't what to do. Mine is from set for you because I don't like any redoing, like resizing. And I hoped it would be as perfect as I expected when it first time came out. But now...disappointed

Unacceptable. Call them immediately. They shouldn't want a wonky piece out in the wild, to me Cartier, for that price especially, should be perfection. I would want that remade and I would want them to pay to have it pushed ahead in line to be made correctly.

My thoughts exactly and no you are definitely not being too picky...not at all!

I asked my hubby to check it last night. He didn't feel any wrong with the band part and he doesn't care about the carat missed either. That's why I am not sure if I should call the SA. Are their e-rings always engraved with carat weight?

Call. If you expected it at least they can explain to you why it isn't there. Call now. Right now. You aren't happy. Don't try to convince yourself to just accept what isn't perfect.

I suppose the engraving mixup was both your fault and Cartier's, if neither of you were specific as to where the engraving should be. To be fair, 99% of people want any engraving done on the inside of the band, not the outside.

That being said, I agree with the others about you taking it back to them. For those prices it should be absolutely perfect. I would be disappointed too. You aren't just paying for the item when you're shopping at that level, you're paying for the whole experience. That experience should NOT include a rubber band.

agreed!

You are right. It is normal to engrave inside. But mine has side stones so there is not enough room to engrave the letters I want. I specifically asked if the engraving could be done on the side and the SA told me yes. I guess he forgot to mention it when he requested the ring from NY. Or even himself forgot it.

If it is my fault not to mention or confirm anything, I wouldn't say anything. But just like the shipping date, I not only emailed him, but also called him, then found out he was not present at all. I am pretty upset, although I think he's a sweet SA.
