Am I the only one who doesn't use dust bags?

Live in the country; had mice pee on a couple of bags <sob> So now they are all in dust bags or pillow cases/ Did I say one was a Hermes? <double sob>

A drawaback is I was looking for a bag the other day and amidst all the pillowcases I couldn't find it! Small price to pay.

I don't use dust bags. I love seeing my handbags on display in my closet. 😍

Plus, I don't see how bags get so dusty. I am extremely careful (picky) with my bags as I always want them to look pristine. And I have enough bags to where, unfortunately, some only get used every couple of months.

But none of them ever get "dusty". Maybe I have a better filter on my HVAC system?? Or perhaps climate contributes??? Maybe because I don't have pets?? Because I'm a neat freak?? I was born under a lucky non dust star?? The handbag gods decreed I shall haveth a pittance of dust to fall on my bags?? 😜

Bottom line. I have zero use for dust bags and keep them in a box in my storage room for when I eventually sell a bag.

I wasn't really using dust bags or stuffing paper. I used to just put my bags on a shelf (or put them on top of each other). I had this bag that I bought for maybe $10 but has a huge sentimental value to me. It started peeling and getting squished. I felt so bad that I wanted to take better care of my bags esp that some do gather dust. I usually baby my stuff, but after having kids I no longer have much time. So when I bought chanel I wanted to protect my "investment". I kept the stuffing, box and dust bags and keep my babies protected, my bag babies that is :)

My bags are always stuffed with tissue, with felt over chains, etc., and placed in their dust bags after each use, even though I rotate them out almost daily. Not worth the risk of leaving them unprotected.

I use them for some bags but not others. I'm working on building a closet with a sealed glass case so I can display some of the nicer ones. Thinking about taking pics of my collection so I don't forget :)

I deplore those dust bags! I want to see my goodies! lol

I stuff all my bags because it helps keep their shape and keeps the less structured ones from flopping around. My Chanel bags get the felt on the chains and felt protecting the inside from the flap. I don't know that is doing much though. If I hadn't heard of people doing that on the TPF Chanel board, I wouldn't have known to do it. None of my other bags get this level of babying though. Hope they aren't jealous. 😳

I love the last sentence:)
I think my other bags are jealous of my pony hair chanel because I stuff it, cover it with a small blanket (not dust bag, I don't want the hair to rub against it when I take it out) and put it in its box on a shelf with no other bags!

I now dust bag all my bags since I found spots of mouse pee on a couple bags! (I live in a rural area mice are a fact of life). Bought a bunch of pillow cases at Target. Problem is, now I can't see a bag at a glance, I have to rummage through pillowcases. Small price to pay for protection. I store my 2 Hermes bags in my clothes closet which is a "more highly travelled" walk-in closet and I have not seen mice evidence there. In their dust bags of course. My spare room does not have a walk in closet and it is only purses in the closet.

I always stuff my bags and store them in their dust bags. Now for the first time I find myself short a dust bag. I bought a preloved RM bag that didn't come with one. Thought I had an extra one or two but apparently not. So - I can buy one, or use a pillowcase, or steal one from a least favorite bag.
BTW in terms of finding bags, generally my dust bags are the ones that came with the bag so I know from looking at the dustbag which bag is in which dust bag. But you can forget what bags you have this way compared to having them all on open shelves I guess.

When I first started buying bags I was a fanantic about stuffing and dust bags. But as I relaxed and starting using them all, (I change daily) I only a few in dust bags. I stuff a couple of them only because they are semi structured and seem to sag a lot.
