Will do!
Google shows a nice juicy orange shade, is that one you like and want?
I really want more of a neutral or darker color and my SA new that. I brought up the orange minimum as an option for a bright color. I left my wishlist very open.

Sounds promising to me too! Just wanted to share my little happy story. Around the end of May, couple of weeks before my birthday, I texted my SA telling her that my birthday was coming up on such date in June, I hope to be able to come in and get something special from her (my home store is out of state). She immediately responded as ok sounds good let’s see what comes now and we’ll work on it for June. Then she went over my wishlist sizes and colors. And then a week before my birthday she texted me saying “I think you have to get your plane ticket to come to xxx. I have a birthday bag for you.” Sending you good vibes and good luck! Hopefully yours turns out to be happy like mine.:hbeat:

Yup! It was exactly what I wanted! Got the B25 gold on gold. Originally I asked her for the K25 gold on gold bcuz I got the B30 black already and was thinking about getting one of each B/K lol. However, in the back of my mind I loved and wanted Birkin more than Kelly. So when she went over the list with me I added B25. I felt like she was able to read my mind.

Good luck to you and don’t forget to share what you get.

Hello all,

I know every boutique is different... but would like opinions!

My home boutique in the US is quite small. I started frequenting this boutique summer 2022. I have somewhere around at 2:1 to maybe even 2.5:1 pre-spend after our last visit a week ago. Our big purchase last week was an H08 for my husband for his birthday (the graphene one). We have a pretty good relationship with my SA. After I bought a watch for myself in December, when I returned in January my SA saved a Constance to go Wallet in Noir with ghw. Of course I purchased it! I have bought now 2 watches (one womens and one mens), fashion jewelry, silk scarves, twillys, and cashmere scarves (for myself and for gifts), mens and womens shoes, home goods including 2 ceramic trays and a Ulysse notbook cover (and insert), a Bride a Brac, and lip balm.

When my SA was boxing up our purchases, I joked to my husband that he couldn't complain next month when we came back for my birthday. My SA turned around, asked what day my birthday was, put it in their phone, and then went over my QB wishlist off the top of their head, "Birkin 30 or 35 or a Kelly 28 or 32.... neutral color or darker color." Then my SA and another SA discussed the orange minimum for 2023 and they told me about a Birkin 25 that came into the store in Orange Minimum and how beautiful it was in person. My SA said a couple of times that "hopefully a bag comes in for my birthday."

Does this mean what I think it does?!?!!?!!? Do I finally have a shot at a QB bag!?!?!?
Ive heard this “hopefully” several times these past two weeks in person and on written communication with my SA. Sounds very criptique. Maybe that means theyre just waiting for store manager approval? And it’s a safe way to express it rather than set it on stone that there is a bag.

They’re technically not supposed to discuss bags via phone nor text. Thus the cryptic message. They wouldn’t text you to come in unless the SM has already approved it. How awkward would it be to have you come in and have them say “um, I saw this hat and immediately thought of you”.

Really? I have done entire transactions by text. Every SA I work with in three countries does 90% of interactions by text or WhatsApp; one uses WeChat. LOTS of bag discussions but also literally soup to nuts buying by text (except they usually prefer to email payment links). In the old days the text might ask one to come in, but even that isn't necessary any more.

"Bag X came in, are you interested?"
"Hell yeah but any chance you have PHW?"
"Let me look.." "yep we got in the same bag in PHW, would you rather?"
"Yes PLEASE, thanks so much"
"Let me open the box and check it over, looks perfect, wow that color is great in that leather"
....(here is where I look up the current price on tPF haha)....
"Great, you da best, I will take it"
"I'll email you a payment link"

I've never had an SA be vague about a bag in text unless they wanted to surprise me with something crazy like a surprise SO or something really rare.

I do agree that SAs will not ask you to come in for a bag that is not approved for you, although there are stories here of bags getting "scooped" by another client before client #1 comes to pick it up.

Heartbreak how often does that happen? (re:scooping) I notice all the bags have names on them before they open it?

That is why I started with “technically”. It is a policy here in the US but each boutique enforces the policy as they see fit. With our original SA in Greenwich, we did everything over text. Then the SM retired and new SM came in and the policy was suddenly enforced. She would call me and tell me details quietly while on break outside of the boutique even though she wasn’t supposed to. The one time she was cryptic was when it was the Togo sellier SO Kelly as she figured the wife would love the surprise. She was correct.

Ive had experience with bag being offered on the spot. I was new back then and disnt have a list and she asked me what bag i wanted. And she would look at the back. I since sold that bag because i didnt like K sellier— too stiff and also realized later it was someone else’s return maybe? As i saw an imperfection on d leather few days later and i didnt want to return it thinking like if it’s a car when out of the dealer it’s considered sold and nonreturnable lol

The next times i email her my updated list. And next times since she would email me “i got a bag would you like to see it?” I would ask what it is so as to not waste my time lol. Also she sent me a voicemail to check my email which said she got a bag would i happen to want it. This last time tho when i ask she would say “hopefully”.
I think im supposed to be due for a bag coz i rejected a B30 last time and i bought rtw since that offer. So here’s hoping to get a bag soon.

Then why do SAs in the US have Hermès WhatsApp accounts?

I shop all around the store via text. However when it comes to bags, never any communication in written form. One SA won’t discuss bags at all except face to face and one will only do it over a voice call “Can I call you in a few minutes? Something came in that I think you’ll love.” Etc. I think it just varies by particular store manager policy and SA comfort level. There have been SAs fired for client complaints after putting things in written communication. I think if that happens at a store, the other SAs will be gun shy for awhile.

Agreed, it depends by store, SA, seniority, but I don't think it's actual policy to not use text or phone. I've literally never heard this from an SA ever. Anyway...back to topic on the OP getting an offer :flowers:
