Alternative to the LV Neverfull?

I'm loving this thread I'm also looking for a tote to add to my collection. Id like one that does personalization, maybe luggage tags? And maybe more on the contemporary design side since I don't really have any money for a premier designer right now.... Any thoughts??

I was really considering the LV Neverfull but then I stumbled across the MCM reversible Tote and got it instead. It's the same coated canvas and comes with a pouch. I got it in the grey stripe. It's also a great price point.

I have also been looking for an alternative to the neverfull. I had a three. I love the function of the bag and then suddenly got board. It no longer felt special. So I sold two and am working on selling the third. I haven't decided on an alternative but I have come up with a few contestants: goyard St. Louis, bogetta venetta ( not sure how to spell) tote, hermes double sens, Givenchy nightingale, Chanel vintage overnight weekender bag( if even findable) and Chanel shopping fever. Good luck and keep us posted.

Reactions: finer things
Hi everyone,
I'm new to Purse Forum and looking forward to hearing your opinions about a new purse I'd been thinking about buying for quite a while now. I've had my LV Tivoli GM for over 7 years and I use it mostly for work or more formal events. But I find the bag heavy after I put my long wallet, phone, sunglasses and make up bag inside. My weekend/casual bag is the Longchamp Pliage in black (the thicker neo), and I LOVE this bag because it's so lightweight and holds so much, and it's quite inexpensive. I've been thinking about replacing both bags with something more multi-purpose, so I was thinking of the LV Neverfull for both work and weekend shopping because I do not need to dress up for work. But each time I go to the LV store in Toronto, I hesitate because so many people have one, and I find the straps not long enough to wear over my shoulders comfortably. I considered the Goyard St. Louis but I don't love the look nor the completely unstructured nature of it.

What suggestions do you have? I'd like to stay within the LV family, or something else of a similar price - a tote style like my Longchamp that is not heavy, is suitable for work (I work in the advertising/marketing industry), and also good for travel and shopping/errands on the weekend. Also I need to be able to find it here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Thx.

How about the LV Iena mm

It is like the Neverfull, but has a zipped top and an outside zipped pocket. It is also available in a smaller pm size. The price is almost the same as the Neverfull mm. You can see mod pics in the LV forum.

I was entertaining the thought of a NF GM for a while. I ended up going down a completely different path as I felt like it would be a compromise. Not crazy about the price, not crazy over the fact that it has no zipper, not crazy over that it's not leather, not crazy about so many things.
Decided to give Longchamp LP custom size 4 a go. It's pretty much the same size as LV NF GM, costs 152€ incl. LH, embroidery and shipping, lasts well through the years (my other custom LP is 11 yrs old and still looking great), has a zipper, is basically all I wanted. After 4 days of testing - I'm in love.
A good alternative for the MM size would be DvF Voyage tote, croc embossed leather and a gorgeous red suede lining. Can be found on VC on a regular basis. Use mine whenever I want to carry a reasonable amount of stuff in style.
