Thank you for doing the measurements ms-mkay24 - that's very helpful, I'm confused as to why the LV employee told you their strap would be unsuitable. The only difference I can see between the LV strap on the website and the strap which came with your Speedy B is three stitches across the end vs four.

Best of all you've saved a lot of money by getting the Mcraft strap - I think it looks beautiful, a very good choice! It's always good to know there are quality alternatives out there (the LV one is terribly costly in my view).

Edit: Well I got that wrong - the LV strap on the website is indeed narrower (my friend has it). Must get my eyes tested :p

I have used my Mcraft strap and I like it better than the LV strap that came with my Speedy B.

I read from other posts that a strap is not recommended for the classic speedy because the bag is not meant to be carried w/ a strap. But if your bag is not that heavy maybe it's ok.

To follow on from the excellent video and photographs provided by the OP, I too have purchased this strap. I have a brand-new Speedy B 30 and the shoulder strap is going to be worn consistently, and will therefore most likely show signs of wear first. I can alternate the original strap with the Mcraft one to mitigate this.

The strap arrived today and I must say the quality is just beautiful. The hardware appears to be very good quality and is the same 'peachy' shade of gold as the original hooks. It looks very expensive and exclusive, and completely at home on the bag. Edit: the Mcraft vachetta is slightly softer than my original strap and the thread used for the stitching is fractionally less yellow than the LV thread, but the difference is minute. At some stage I will place photographs in the main Speedy thread for reference. Thanks again to mc-emkay24 for drawing attention to this particular product.

I'm not sure how well it will hang with a size 35--I bought the 16mm straps for each of my Ebene and Azur Speedys-but they are both size 25. I am very happy with the straps. The ones that come with the "Speedy B's" were too wide for me and the ends of the straps stuck out, didn't look good on my frame.

Yes, the 16mm strap would look perfect on a Speedy 25.

The original strap which came with my new Speedy B 30 is exactly the same width as my new Mcraft strap. However the Mcraft strap is in two pieces not three, and it's fairly soft so it doesn't stick out at all - it's quite elegant.
