This is tough! I think it depends on your personal style, needs, and which one calls to you more. I don’t have the Alma but I DO have the Balenciaga; I have it in two sizes actually, and I love both. IMHO it is such a great little bag! It is deff more casual and edgy, while the Alma is more dressy and classic. I personally don’t buy bags based on how trendy they are/how long it will be before they’re considered out of style; I just buy what I like and keep wearing it even if they’re no longer popular, haha! So the Balenciaga being potentially less classic isn’t a dealbreaker to me, but I do agree with others that I think the Alma has a more classic look (kind of like the Chanel classic flap), and probably will always be in style more or less. I think it will also work better for fancier events than the Balenciaga can, so it may be a little more versatile.
