This 160 anniversary edition vicuna/astrakhan Borsalino I would kill for, unfortunately all the sizes are way too big.

Like very, very much !!! Forever hat, signature hat.
This is the Borsalino style I've wanted for forever and a day. Perfect grey tone hat with light blue band, ideal for my every day winter wear.
The smallest sizes are too big for me though. So tempting otherwise ...

Great hat

If it was just 1 or 2 sizes too bag you could fold tissue paper under the inner band (I have to do this with my Pierre Cardin). But hats at this price, really you want them to fit perfectly. Sizes are +3 for my head, it's such a shame.

Absolutely. I still dream of the hat I missed out on. It was wide, triangular and black suede :tender:

I had a Stephen Jones fedora-type in light aqua blue straw but I sold that too. I could really smack myself sometimes.
Oh gosh I still dream of certain things I missed out on or let go of years and years ago! Mad. The Stephen Jones fedora must have been stunning. Your red Gucci is gorgeous though, perfect on you. No wonder I have an unrequited love for a red felt hat. And the green must be spectacular (just because it's green)

I'm a hat person too, both summer and winter, for practical purposes (sun protection) and style.
Not collecting anymore but my most recent acquisitions over the last few years are from Maison Michel (mostly Virginie style), Filu Hats and Nick Fouquet.
My head is smaller than average (54cm) which is a pain! I used to get hats made by a local milliner but she retired so it's back to off the rack. Often I resort to using my longish hair tucked up under the hat to keep a too big hat on my head.
My seasons are opposite to most here, currently wearing my everyday Maison Michel Virginie in navy felt with black trim. Pictures to follow.
Do you have any Virginie from past seasons? would love to see!

I’m a hat person all year around mainly to hide my bad momsy hair and to protect my face from not wearing sunscreen!

My personal favourite is MM.
I got Virginie in natural straw and wool felt both in size M.
I found their sizing is a bit different - the natural straw fits me well and the wool felt is tight that it doesn’t sit deep enough on my head.

I am hoping I would be able to add more style soon though on my upcoming trip to Paris.

Very much enjoy reading everyone recommendations too :)

Over the years, I've been a very casual hat wearer. For this summer, I am feeling like wearing a nice, versatile straw hat I can wear out, at the pool, or on a beach. And for fall, a nice wool fedora. To that point, I'd much rather have a couple nice quality hats than many inexpensive throw-away's.

So I'd love to hear from you... which brands do you own? Which do you really love? The few I am strongly considering are...
Janessa Leone
Freya
Rag & Bone

I’m s9 envious of all of you that have small heads. I have a big head, and it’s sometimes hard to find hats. Many years ago I bought my favorite hat from Locke of London. It’s like a midnight blue Dr. Seuss hat. will update with a pic when I find one. A few years ago, I went back, and their hats were much more feminine, and not to my taste. I still buy their watch caps and stuff feom the men’s side of rhe house though. For summer I have a structured wide brimmed straw from Saks.

My favorite summer hat of all times is this one. I have it in a couple colors...so well made and I always get a ton of compliments.

Thank you for the suggestion. I haven't considered Eric Javits hats before but love the versatility of this one. I'll take a look!

For best value, I'd go with rag&bone hats. They are well made and lots of variety every season. Always goes on sale too.

I also like Eric Javitz. First time buy from Nord anni sale last year and was pleasantly surprised by the quality.

Janessa is a bit more expensive, but quality is there, as an investment.

Nothing beats a straw hat for spring/summer. Hope you find yours. Best to try on in person bc my pet peeve is ordering online and having a hat packed terribly and arrive misshapen or crushed.
