End of November I ordered something in the $125 range. Arrived December 23, but proved to be defective within a few days. Requested return. Seller finally 'accepted proposal' of return for refund several days later, but would not respond to inquiries about return postage. No way to contact AE either, only automated replies even in their 'Live Chat'.

Paid for postage to return on January 6. Package made it to Beijing, then vanished. No tracking since in any system I could find.

AE dispute 'timed out' on February 6 with no delivery and no response from Seller. Refund was issued and it showed up in my account this morning for full purchase price, original shipping and tax.

At this point all I'm out is the return shipping. Was sent via Stamps.com 'global post'. They demand a signature from the recipient (who cannot be contacted) in order to file a claim. Will try to escalate.

If you make future purchases that are defective or the wrong item, I would push for a refund or replacement without sending the item back. I've had a few of these incidents and I have never sent the item back, it is not worth the high international shipping cost. You are lucky you got a refund if there is no proof the seller received the item and the agreement was they would get the item back. If you did not negotiate the seller paying for return shipping during the mediation I doubt you will be reimbursed for return shipping, but worth a try to escalate.

Honestly, I’ve never purchased a bag or clothes from Ali Express. Despite so many positive reviews, I’m afraid that the items I get from them won’t look the same as on a picture the seller posts. You know how it usually happens, and people share posts in style: expectation VS. reality. Well, I don’t wanna be one of them. I prefer to check clothes’ quality, the material it’s made of, and see how it fits me.
Still, I get a lot of stuff for the house from Ali Express, but it takes a while for them to deliver. Besides, parcels get lost sometimes. Still, my friends recently shared with me about the aliexpress tracking service. I wanna try it, but I’m curious if someone already has some experience with it.

Forgot all about this. A few months later, don't remember when now, I got a refund from Stamps for the full insured amount. Basically I got refunded for the item price twice, once by Allie and again by Stamps. Since I had already closed my Stamps account due to a number of arguments and disputes over this, there was no way to get back with them.
