I know, I know, but this isn't one of those threads. I'm not asking about fake or real because I don't buy items where that would be an issue.

Did you get what you ordered? In a reasonable time? Did it meet your needs?

yes. i (and many girls around the office) order various stuff from that site. i've always been quite happy. i'd suggest that you keep the purchase price very low and only buy from sellers with strong feedback. i got like 100 hair bows for $2... their deals are pretty incredible and i've been happy the 5 times i bought. i was super worried the first time but it got to me within about 2 weeks and most are the same timeframe 2-3 weeks.

Few more question. Did you have any problems afterwards with odd charges on your CC? Is their payment system secure? Do the sellers get your payment details, or is like others where they only get the funds from the site?

I'm looking at things in the $50-$75 range.

It's totally fine! I've made large purchases on there, and honestly AliPay has been better than paypal. Your payment isn't released to the seller until you confirm it's arrived and it's what you ordered. It's held by AliPay until then, so if a dispute does arise the money is there. I've also had a few disputes over average as items and the sellers have been willing to refund, or AliPay has sorted it for me. So, I would highly recommend it, but like eBay, you just need to make sure you read carefully what you are buying, and only buy from trusted sellers with good feedback. It also helps to message the seller before you order, or ask for extra pictures before you order to make sure they have the real product (as they often just use stock photos). Hope that helps!

Aliexpress is awesome but you have to be really careful with the quality. I've purchased various things from Aliexpress and have a very mixed experience. Sometmes even though the sellers may have great feedback that doesnt guarantee the quality but it definitely helps. One tip is to look at the most recent reviews for the seller.

My coworker orders all this cute children clothing for his son. He's told me his experience has been pretty good. I've only ordered items in the $10-$50 range and its all been fine. Just make sure to check all the details and specifics, if you have any questions or concerns always email the seller. They get back to you pretty quickly from my experience.

Seller waited until the last day and almost the last hour of the shipping window to ship. They answered a couple of questions during that period, but not the latest one a day or so ago. I thought were going to let the order time out and cancel.

Now we wait for shipping for another 10 days or more to see what we get.

Not off to a good start. After tracking couldn't be found for 10 days, I got back to the seller. They replied that the courier told them they lost the package. Seller stated they sent a new item that day, so now I'm waiting again. That was a few days ago and tracking still isn't showing anything.

I typically use AliExpress for odds and ends, or items that aren't that significant to me, especially seeing that sometimes you have to be wary about the quality. It takes about 3 - 5 weeks for my items to arrive in Canada.

Also, like others have mentioned, you have to be cautious of which sellers you are buying from and only buy from those who have good feedback and communication.

I agree...keep the pricepoint relatively low and make sure you read the reviews for the items, the measurements for sizing, and feedback on the seller!

I've ordered statement necklaces, a few flannels, two bikinis, and a chambray dress from aliexpress...everything was very well priced and pretty great quality. the sizing was also accurate because I followed the measurements and was able to figure out my according size.
Shipping usually took 4 weeks, as I live in Canada, but was free every time, so i didn't mind waiting and knew ahead of time that it would take a while.
There was only one time I didn't receive a dress, but I got a refund from the seller and it was handled smoothly.

I bought a number of items from AliExpress and had wonderful experiences. I just recently bought 3 iPod Touch 5th Gen. cases and they arrived to me within 2 weeks in perfect condition. Other items include a pair of sunglasses (it even came with its own pouch and perfectly packaged), a purse (which I later donated), and some iPhone/Samsung and iPad cases, too. All excellent experiences. I plan on buying more junk there later down the road. ^_^ Love Alibaba!

End of November I ordered something in the $125 range. Arrived December 23, but proved to be defective within a few days. Requested return. Seller finally 'accepted proposal' of return for refund several days later, but would not respond to inquiries about return postage. No way to contact AE either, only automated replies even in their 'Live Chat'.

Paid for postage to return on January 6. Package made it to Beijing, then vanished. No tracking since in any system I could find.

AE dispute 'timed out' on February 6 with no delivery and no response from Seller. Refund was issued and it showed up in my account this morning for full purchase price, original shipping and tax.

At this point all I'm out is the return shipping. Was sent via Stamps.com 'global post'. They demand a signature from the recipient (who cannot be contacted) in order to file a claim. Will try to escalate.
