I have a hard time believing he's an a**hole that treats her like s***. He seems to be too nice of a guy to do that to her, but I'm only going by what I've read, not what I know personally. Many people are sure this is a showmance that's all for publicity and will be over after the hoopla of SD has died down. We shall see.

I agree with that. He just looks like a douche because she makes him look like a douche. If she (wo-)man up and b**ch slap him verbally he wouldn't do anything of what he does. But obviously he can't live with what parts of her life stand for or how she behaves in certain situations. Because honestly that looney smile at the airport earlier she would never have if he would've been around. She knows he doesn't like the pap shizz to be that obvious. With him she always pretends like "Gosh! They caught me again. I'm so unprepared for this with my TackyMint and sponsored clothes." But as soon as she sees a flash she's there and you never see her back when she knows there's a camera.
Finally to speak, he's a complete different person around his friends and family which makes me believe this behavior just comes out when she's around. Conclusion: When she's gone the behavior is gone.

Agree Joanie, I just don't think this relationship is all that serious. So I don't take it seriously because he sure doesn't give off that signal. Those who want it to be true love will disagree violently with me on that one, but for him it seems like passing time. What came through for me in the interview is how focused he is on his career, how much his family (not her, folks, his real family) dominates his life and path, how invested he is in his work and the choices he makes in it, etc. Does it help to have a relationship given his weird hours, travel on location and other things? I'm sure it does, he doesn't seem to have to put loads of overtime into it, they both do a lot of their own thing, so it's kind of Ms Right Now. I think hyping the movie is a part of it, he's aware of the fan dislike for sure, he doesn't want it to be a distraction, but he probably would have done better to just take it at face value a long time ago. That ship has sailed and we are where we are.

I liked his interview bc it wasn't the same old questions, but I wish it would've been less about his dad. And I would honestly respect Alex more if he just said yes we are dating and and that's all I want to say about that. It's lame at this point.
