Alaia handbags

Hi all! I searched on PF and didn’t find any thread dedicated specifically to Alaia handbags, so decided to start one myself. I have two gorgeous Alaia handbags and I see on social media that the brand is appreciated for its ready-to-wear rather than leather accessories. However, the bags I have are really nice quality, quite underrated and low-key which I like, if you know you know. The price tag for Alaia handbags is quite hefty comparing to other designer brands like Chloe, Celine, Balenciaga and so, however, the craftsmanship is just as amazing if not superior.

The bags I own are: Alaia Cecile bag in neutral color with removable shoulder strap and Alaia bucket bag 1992 edition with laser cut details in white. Does anyone own any Alaia bag, what are your thoughts on the brand and their handbags?

I appreciate the quality & style of Alaia bags. I also like the corset belts & shoes that were featured
with his very stylish clothes.
The laser cut bags are fun & stylish..also like the bucket bag you have postged an image of.. enjoy them!
The handbags are under the radar for sure in comparison to other designer handbags but the quality
& level of design is still there.

I don’t own any Alaia bags but they do seem nice. I’ve been stalking this one forever, but I just don’t know if I’d wear it enough.

I also wanted to mention that one of the Alaia bags I’d like to add to my collection one day would be the Angele 25, I’ve tried it in store and it’s so lightweight and the leather is just so luxurious, the overall shape and design is quite unique and looks amazing.

Adding a few pics of celebrity wearing Alaia bags for inspiration… I like that you can recognize Alaia for it’s laser cuts or metal ornaments, but there is no logo at all

Also a small feature that some Alaia bags have is a tiny mirror inside the bag… this is so cute, such a luxurious touch! Some luxury brands could have added this feature too, considering their price tags…

Love Alaïa bags! I only have a camera bag at present, but have had others in the past. They're really breathtakingly beautiful.

I recently went to Paris and aside visiting the exhibition at Foundation Alaia, I also visited the flagship store… they had some beautiful new bags, including currently popular heart-shaped bags (I couldn’t care less about ) and hobo bags. One of the newest designs I liked the most was Hinge bag, very functional and quite lightweight! The leather was very nice to the touch, really loved it

so glad @coffeetogo started this thread! i've admired the alaia laser cut bags for years but found them too expensive. finally saw a mina 25 on fashionphile and snatched it! it's a chilli red and I love it. I like how it's a iykyk brand and design and the excellent craftsmanship. the exterior calf leather is slightly embossed - accidental nail scratches should be of no concern. plus I love bags that come with lambskin lining - the last bag I had with this was the loewe amazonian bag and it was so secretly luxurious every time I reach into it.

Trouble is - fashionphile just reminded me that I only had 2 weeks left to return the bag for the Refresh buyback programme. Alaia is so under the radar that I know if I ever wish to sell it in the future, I would get a paltry sum compared to the Refresh buyback price. But I do love it and find myself reluctant to ship it back! dilemma!

In France, Alaia bags are very hard to get.
The last time I visited a multi brand store during the sales period, nearly all
designer bags were on sale with the exception of Alaia’s..
The SA told me that as they are considered as classics, they couldn’t be discounted..

I also attached a few pics of my mina 25, especially of the embossed leather. It is such a tactile bag, from the satisfying clunk of the feet when I set the bag down to the resilient bag handles that sit up sprightly. Just love this bag so much!

So glad you like the bag and decided to keep it! The color is quite versatile too, so it will be great to wear throughout the seasons! As for iykyk vibe, I feel like I haven’t seen that much Alaia bags in fashion capitals like Milan or Paris, it’s much easier to spot a Birkin, Chanel CF or LV bags, so on those rare occasions I spot one, I just admire the wearer and her bag choice As for resale value, I feel like some people justify their luxury purchases with an idea of “this piece has great resale value”, but these purchases don’t reflect their style, they’re just following the crowd and what’s cool and most-wanted. Before the rise of social media and resale market, I think people rarely justified their purchases with resale value, the trends were much slower, you just bought what you liked and kept it.

Hi! I’m new to Alaia bags, but recently came across this one and fell in love. It’s my most comfortable bag - easy to wear, under the radar, supple, lightweight, well made and fits a lot. I can highly recommend it!
