Affordable gold alternatives to FoundRae

Before she started Foundrae, the founder collected antique and unique found objects and jewelry. I’ve often thought an antique gold watch fob chain could be repurposed, and I sometimes take off my Foundrae charms and use an antique aquamarine pendant. I also use an art piece, a torso sculpture pendant made of base metal on my Foundrae chain. Once you have a chain you are happy with, you can take your time collecting other items. For other items that I’ve paired with Foundrae, see my post 1115 here,
ETA: antique gold watch fob chains are quite expensive in NY or London, but I’ve seen good deals here and there. You just have to hunt a bit.
I will check out your post! I love the idea of personalizing my necklace with talismanic charms. That is why I have been drawn to Foundrae. It’s quite beautiful!

Mene. They use 24k, but they are less $ than Foundrae and they have a ton of medalions.
Thank you for this suggestion! I am very interested in their items, and maybe I am missing something, but they sell "wide" bands or "narrow" bands or "classic" bands, but while they tell the gold or platinum weight, they don't tell how wide the band actually is. They show it on a model's hand, but I still cannot tell whether they are 4 mm wide or 6 mm wide or more or less. I have a feeling it has to be listed somewhere and I am just oblivious, but I can't find it.

Ah, one of the reviews of the "wide" band says it is 6 mm wide. That still leaves open the size of the classic and the narrow, but helps to narrow things down...

How odd, they have a “specifications” section for most items with dimensions. I agree, that would be useful for the bands!

I purchased a few charms from Lionheart. It was a total disappointment. 2,300 later... the charms are paper thin and the diamonds are horrible quality...It was a complete let down.
I forgot to add, if you have time to take photos to show the pieces you were disappointed with I am sure everyone here would love a “review” as I feel us jewelry folk appreciate honest feedback!

jewelry brands like Foundrae and Temple st. Claire have raised the prices of their chains to the stratosphere. A big part of the look is the chain. If one doesn’t mind mixing links and tinkering, I think antique watch fob chains are stunning. Here is one that I just pulled off a random google search

Oh wow. That is so disappointing! I was hoping to visit their showroom when I would be in the Tri state area in April, but this makes me second guess that decision. Thank you for sharing!
Honestly, I read the reviews so I thought I was getting a piece that I would be able to wear daily. The bracelet (jumbo link) would get dented if it hit anything. After dropping 2,500 I sold the bracelet and charm on eBay for 780.00 Lesson learned.
