I have recently become very interested in purchasing a pair of old cut diamond earrings. I came across this pair on Jewels by Erica Grace: http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.com/Jewelry/Earrings/229ctw-Antique-Cushion-Cut/33201292_Cv6NJw#!i=2880526978&k=5NvLDLJ

I love the style, and the size seems perfect for what I am looking for (something appropriate for everyday, but with enough wow factor for nice events). I am a bit hesitant to purchase sight-unseen, though, especially as I am unfamiliar with antique diamonds. Does anyone have thoughts on what this would look like in real life? Would the difference in the cuts be noticeable? How yellow would they appear on? Will I be disappointed by the sparkle compared to the hearts & arrows studs I got from Brian Gavin Diamonds?

Any advice is much appreciated! I posted on pricescope too, but always appreciate getting advice from a variety of sources :-) Thanks in advance!

I've bought from JbyEG a few times and I love their vintage pieces! what I have bought has been beautiful online but stunning in person :)
I bought a tennis bracelet in platinum and a rose cut diamond ring in a brushed rose gold setting.

Did I read the description correctly about the color? M-O color is quite yellow to my eye. Could you send them back if you don't care for them?
They are listed as M-O, which I've never seen before IRL. The seller has a 3-day return policy, which seems doable to me. I am one of those people who hates returning stuff, though ("it's not that bad, I can make it work, right? :-p), so I like to be reasonably sure before making an online purchase. The price seems so good, though!

I think they are gorgeous. I love a warmer diamond. The majority of antique diamonds will be in that M-O range with high clarity. That is what was deemed beautiful back then. Diamonds used to be cut for candlelight which is why antique diamonds have large chunky facets. Desireable Diamond features have changed a lot throughout time. How else can manufacturers keep the demand high and make more profit? I think these are special and you should buy them. They will be amazing on.

I had a piece from JBEG and like Candice stated its stunning in person. Mine was O and face up white and in person it's whiter. The milgain bezel on OMC is very pretty and the chunky facets are beautiful. Since Grace has a return policy you can return if you don't love it. I am working on the OMC studs too... Waiting to source the 2nd matching stone.

On your head the color won't be as big of a deal than on your hand. But the cut style will be significantly different. Pastel flashes vs the sparkle you're used to from an H&A. The good news is that JBEG does a lot of photos and has a return policy.

Thanks for all the feedback ladies! There's just something about the studs that is so unique and stunning--different than anything I've ever seen before. I was hunting through the site and also saw these: http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.c...amond/16946857_khCQHP#!i=1281234131&k=7fmt8Wx

The price is similar and now I'm a bit torn!
I'm not fond of the yellow gold ear wire while the rest of the piece is set in white or platinum, although the style is definitely pretty. One thing I would worry about is (probably because my ear lobes are tiny) how will that style fit YOUR ear lobes? Please post back when/if you decide which you go with.

Oh wow!
These are really beautiful.
Can you wear wires? One of my lobes is slightly torn which prohibits me from wearing this style.
I absolutely love the dangles though and I would imagine that they will be very eye catching.
