I think a Rolex is a great piece of everyday luxury. And they hold their value very well. Do take your time, go in and try on several times, there's no hurry. Rolex tends to be no-nonsense and sort of masculine in its aesthetic, so there should be a model that works for you.

DateJust with an Oyster bracelet and smooth bezel would be nice, and timeless.

Well, I have around 10 watches and I don't really experience it as an issue. I am more annoyed when the Quartz watches need battery replacement.

I have a few watches with 70+ power reserve is you can take it off on Friday and it still ticks on Monday morning that's really convenient. I currently don't have a watch winder at the moment.

Only takes a few movements to get an automatic going again and then you need to set the time. Maybe it's the romantic side of automatic watches ;)

Some of the Rolex models keep there value really well, but I am not really buying watches or jewellery as investment but because I enjoy it. There actually a few Rolex models if you can find them for the retail price you can sell them straight away with $1-2k profit

It’s so pretty! Love your outfit too! I tried on the Ballon Bleu and the Santos medium last week, very nice watches indeed. Question - have you ever had any issues with the watch? My only concern is some people complained about the quality of Cartier watches?

So no I still haven’t decided yet..it’s a big purchase for me and my friend recommended me to think about it at least for a month.

Looking forward to seeing your other watches!

Aww, thank you :-) I haven't had any real issues with any of my watches whatsoever (Cartier and Rolex). They will occasionally get magnetized but that is minor and to be expected as women's mechanical watches have a smaller movement than men's and I am rather careless with them (leaving them near my laptop, running through x-ray machines, etc.). Even if you are as careless as me and that happens, it can be fixed with a $20 de-magnetizer from Amazon (or a watchsmith will do the same thing for ~$10).

Given that you're taking some time deciding I'll be sure to post photos of the other two when I'm back home in a week.

Apologies! I forgot to post these photos and randomly remembered this weekend.

Please ignore the dates, they spend most of their time sitting safely in my watch box.

Have you begun to decide what you’re thinking?

One question: if your Burberry watch goes with everything and you absolutely love it, why look any further for a 7-10k watch? Let me tell you, buying a 7-10k watch will not stop your addiction. If I were you I would put all my other watches out of sight for like 3 months and just wear my Burberry, then if after 3 months you still HAVE to have a luxury watch, feel free to start thinking about it.

I have 11 watches, both cheap and expensive, (birthday gifts from family, Xmas, etc over the years) and enjoy wearing them equally. Although I wear it almost every day, I do leave my ballon bleu at home sometimes to wear my daniel wellington, or even the watch that my mom bought for me for 60 bucks when I was 16, which at the time felt like a fortune.

So if I were you, I would stop stressing about it. After wearing my ballon bleu for over a year I don't even think about it as a luxury item, it's just my watch, like all 10 others. I just enjoy wearing it because it is pretty, regardless of whether or not it is a luxury item. So for that price point, I would really take it slow and think about it carefully.

Just my two cents, hope that helps!

Have you tried looking into a Cartier store? I know ballon blu has been mentioned but they have quite a few nice others as well; Ronde, tank, and the cle are others you might like.
There are so many nice watches to choose from. I can see why it would be a hard decision!
Good luck xx
