I would love to add a bright green bag for summer and I am debating over the following colors. Would love to have the lovely experienced people of Purseforum chime in.

1. Vert anis - I love this color so much. Never seen it in real life but in photos it looks exactly like my favourite hue of green. However, I'm worried that this color might be "dated"/out of style. Also even older bags in this color are selling for quite a premium.

2. Vert criquet - I do like this color, have seen it in the store and think it looks cute. But compared to vert anis it looks a bit too pastel-y for me.

3. Bamboo - I have a SLG in this color but I'm not sure if this color is too much for a bag?

Would love to hear all of your thoughts. Thanks so much!!!

I love green bags too and saw your post when searching for green. Although I don’t own a Birkin or Kelly right now, I am patiently waiting a Birkin which has been noted on my wishlist as well as other private routes. I am hoping to score one in the next few months. I currently have Verte Vertigo, Bamboo, Verte Bengale on my wishlist in that order. So for 3, no I don’t think it is too much of a color. For 1, I have a Chanel Trendy which is similar in color which certainly seems to give off a vintage vibe. I call it my old lady bag, but I love it. I think the color looks good with top handles and looks good with blue jeans. Also, I think the color is more of a neutral compared to the two others. The color goes welll with a lot of neutrals for a more classic look. For 2, I have come across a similar on Chanels and yes it’s too pastel as well for my liking and style. I prefer 1 and 3.

Vert anis is quite bright, almost chartreuse; I've never thought of it as an "old lady color", whatever that may mean. As for color trends, they are in the eye of the beholder - take a look at current runway, it's all over the place.

Bambou is a great color that many love - like any bright shade, it's not as easy to match as a neutral might be.

There is an older color called Grany, if you are looking at preloved bags, that is very bright.

I personally love Canopee (also an older color) and Malachite, but they are not bright greens.

Vert Vertigo is more in between - definitely brighter, but not as bright as Bambou. I had a VV bag but let it go - didn't dislike the color but nor did it make me happy every day the way, say, a Bleu Electrique bag does.

Vert Criquet is pretty far on the pastel side IMO.

Based on your post I think I like different sorts of greens than you except for the Bamboo BUT here goes.

I think what bag it is matters. Smaller bags look great in really bright colors imo like Bamboo. In general I like, for bags:

- Vert Vertigo

- Bleu Paon - old color and teeeechnically a blue but I love it it has a greenish shade

- Bamboo

- Vert Bosphore

- Malachite

Funny how Bamboo is a very classic green, but now thanks to Bottega Veneta it's also very trendy. I do agree that Vert Anis is one of the few shades of green that aren't currently in fashion. That could be seen as a positive, too; maybe it's your signature color, something that is so very you regardless of seasonal variation. And a classic Hermès bag is timeless in any color, it all depends on how you combine it with the rest of your outfit and complete look (hair, make up, accessories).

I love, love vert anis and think it’s really classic. It matches quite a lot. Especially cool is the brown / raisin contrast stitching.

Vert Anis ~ my favorite green. That said, the perfect shade of certain colors is so personal. I’m extremely particular about H reds & blues. Depends on leather, size, slg or bag, etc. Good luck finding your perfect green!

Hey everyone, thanks for your inputs. I am leaning towards finding a preloved bag in vert anis and maybe try to score one of in bambou from the boutique since it's a current color.

My color palette is basically white/black/blue jeans so the green can go with anything I wear really I think.

Green is such a hot color this season so all shades of green are going for a premium right now...whether the premium is justified or not. When I started collecting Hermes, I (kinda) liked VA, but with all the other shades that have been released since that time, over a decade ago, I much prefer ANY other green option... pretty obvious I don't like VA at all anymore. I feel chartreuse, which is how I would describe VA, gives off a very dated vibe. Just my (probably) unpopular opinion (on this thread anyway). Of the three you listed, Bamboo is def the best, but in a smaller sized bag bc of how bright it is. Love Bamboo!
