Accidentally Bought Fakes: What Do You Do With Them?

 I agree wholeheartedly.

I actually use some old suede totes to hold toiletries in my bathroom. You could also donate it to kids playgroup or a local HS theater group as a dress-up prop.

ETA: if you're worried about someone stealing the bag and trying to pass it off as a real bag to someone unsuspecting, you can write "FAKE" several times on the lining. That way, a theater group could use it as a prop (i.e. looks fine on the outside), but there's no way someone won't find out pretty easily that it's a fake.

I purchased a fake Chanel at a thrift store, way before I found the purse forum. It's also been collecting dust. I like the idea of the theatre group and will definately right FAKE inside, so it doesn't end up at a thrift store again someday.

You all have such great ideas. I love this thread! I have just given away fakes to goodwill, but in hindsight, I should have sharpie'd a nice 'THIS BAG IS NOT AUTHENTIC GUCCI' or 'THIS IS A FAKE BAG' on it. Would have been nice to prevent reselling, etc., however, this was way before my purse forum days so I had no idea this would/could happen!

I think I'd have to write near the handles, "Handle at your own risk, this bag is a fake." Pun INtended!

hahaha, I'm such a dork. :)

I had a similar situation with a fake Coach tote I inadvertently purchased online years ago. I gave it to my MIL [emoji12] [emoji15] [emoji16] To be fair, she's 80, lives in a tiny town out in the middle of nowhere and has no idea about brands (nor do any of her retired friends to whom she crowed about the bag). She LOVES it, down to the alarmingly big fat pink bow that makes it scream FAKE even louder!!!

While I don't promote counterfeits of any kind, I do like the idea of donating it to a theater group to use as a prop or part of a costume. After you label the interior that it's a fake!
