I am selling a pair of Louboutin heels via BIN/BO. An eBay bidder sent me a Best Offer over the weekend which is great however they have 0 feedback and it looks like they just joined eBay to bid on my item. Their info states they joined ebay on 8/04/11.

Would you accept an offer from this bidder? or would you stay away?
Usually I block negative feedback but we all have to start somewhere right?
It just seemed "off" to me when I realized they just joined eBay on the 4th.

thanks!!

well, everyone has to start somewhere....if you are not comfortable then do
not complete the transaction... are you shipping them domestically or is it an
international transaction?? If it is international, I would not do it... but that's just
me...

I would first email them and ask if they are registered with PayPal and will be able to complete the transaction. If they respond back positively and the offer is good, I personally would accept it! Everyone does have to start somewhere.

^ great suggestion, jojon, thank you! I have emailed them and will see how quickly they respond :smile1: I don't mind 0 feedbackers but with my higher priced items, it always causes me a momentary concern.

Personally, I'd prefer some successful buying history. New eBayers should realize and expect reluctance from sellers on high end items.

You do not have ANY protection with PayPal.

I would accept it. There are about as many threads about problems with 0 feedback buyers are there are 100+ feedback buyers, and so long as your buyer is willing to set up a line of communication, their address is confirmed, you ship it out properly, etc. I've always felt it's the same amount of risk as any other transaction.

When it comes to high end items I prefer not to do business with 0 fb buyers and/or sellers. Yes, we all had to start somewhere, but I know my first venture into the morass known as Ebay was a $20 purchase. Even though things have changed and buyers only have 100% + fb I would still prefer to see some kind of track record, iykwim. Now if I am selling something inexpensive I wouldn't worry (so much). But a high end hot ticket item is different.

You might let the buyer know that you will only give her ____ amount of time to pay...say, 48 hours...before you will relist. Since she's new, she probably won't realize that Ebay makes you wait 7 days for the NPB, yada yada.

I had this same decision to make with a new Ebayer who made an offer on some maternity jeans right after I'd had 2 consecutive 0-FB NPBs. She was obviously hormonal (newly preggers, which was why she joined Ebay, to get some maternity jeans) and got a bit testy with me after I explained my policy. So I said that, out of the goodness of my heart, I'd give her a chance, as long as she paid within 48 hours. Luckily she did, I sent out the jeans (which had taken awhile to sell and were Rock & Republic, which I'm phasing out of my Ebay outfit)...never did end up getting FB from her, but oh well.

^Good to know! Hopefully it won't happen again, though (I set all my BINs to Immediate Payment Required anyway and, after the transaction with the R&R buyer, put a prominent clause in all my auctions that all 0-FB buyers must use the BIN option)
