I agree with you on the dryness and dullness of the caviar in black. But I noticed that’s how they are with the classic flap and woc. I had both in black w/silver and sold them for those reasons. I’ve also seen better looking caviar that look more buttery but I don’t know if they used filters on their photos. I think if you want a more yummy looking leather, I found the seasonal ones look better.

The SA told me they use larger pebbled caviar on black classics and smaller pebbled caviar on seasonal ones.

The first photo is one of the many dry and dull small classic flaps that I checked out yesterday. It does not look bad in the photo, but in person it looked and felt like cardboard.

Second photo is a buttery, soft to touch seasonal caviar, which I like very much, I wish it was in black. I thought about getting the pink just because how nice the caviar felt, but I know I will always want the black one.

Third photo is a very dry caviar boy woc, it feels very much like the black caviar on the woc and class flap I’ve seen.

I remember the black caviar woc I checked out last year was soft to touch, not dry at all.

Oh my! I just bit the bullet and got the medium flap in black with GHW. It’s due to arrive today. I didn’t see it in person but I was sent a pic from my SA. When I was in person last week they weren’t any black caviars or any caviars in ant flaps in stock to compare. My last purchases in Chanel handbags was well over ten years ago and they were Black caviar with SHW. I was excited to get my first GHW but now I’m worried. Also, the price was hard to swallow esp since I know it was better priced three years ago. But I digress. Wish me luck!

Hope your bag turns out to be a good one! Kindly let me know when you receive it. The price increases are insane, it is like if I do not buy now, it will be 10-15% more expensive later. But I really cannot bring myself to buy the woc and classic flap, I cannot justify spending this much on something that does not feel luxurious at all. Maybe I will wait for the next season.

Sigh.. it’s a hard decision since you’re up against another price increase. But if you’re already spending that much might as well go for it when you find the one that you will love. Maybe in the next seasons to come you will find a seasonal CF that is neutral enough to get instead of a black. I agree with your husband that in Asia everyone has the black one. But go with your style and what you think you will wear the most with your wardrobe

Also, not sure if you’re interested in the mini woc size. But there is a seasonal black with light gold hardware in that size that they sell in Asia. The leather on that is buttery and soft!

Yes, I will just wait for a classic flap that I love. I even considered preloved but I am a bit of a germaphobe and I don’t think I can unless the bag was kept unused lol. And I am leaning towards getting the lambskin woc.

I have checked out the mini woc, alas it does not fit my iphone plus, or else I would’ve gotten it, it is so cute!

May I ask how you plan to use your WOC and CF? Like WOC for night events and CF for days? Because to me WOC is really tiny and can’t hold much and is not worth the price, I own mini rectangle, small and medium CF but never thought of buying WOC, furthermore the chain is really too long unless you’re more than 1m70.

Hi, I plan to use the woc as a daily bag, since I will be either running quick errands or having my baby with with me which means I will be carrying a diaper bag too, and I drive mostly, so I can leave nonessentials in the car. I intend to use a chain fastener to shorten the chain.

As for the CF, it will be an occasion bag, day out with my girl friends, date with the hubby and so on. I sold my square mini as the chain was awkwardly short if carried crossbody, haven’t yet tried the rectangular mini though.

I use my WOC regularly. I use it as an evening bag but also as an errand/running around bag. I take the contents of my wallet, my phone, a folding travel brush, my LV key cles, and a lip gloss. I am 5'2" and the bag hits me nicely crossbody.
I think keeping the WOC inside a bigger bag with baby will serve your needs well.

Yes, I had a lambskin woc but I was terrified of the idea of needing to baby it, so I sold it. I find that it is the perfect size for my essentials, I do not carry makeup since I don’t wear make up, maybe a lip balm at most. So just keys, cards, cash, and my cellphone.

I regret so much for not getting the caviar and got the lambskin instead, that caviar was so pretty and buttery, now the caviar on the many wocs I’ve seen in boutique the other day was so cheap looking.

UPDATE:

Thanks to my SA for keeping an eye for me, I just bought a shiny and puffy small classic flap. I am so happy! Found a nice woc too, but the thread was coming loose at one of the lower corners, so I did not buy it.

Here is a photo of my new small classic flap:biggrin:

Regarding when we carry our WoC, we go to a lot of concerts and sporting events (high school/college/pro) and they usually have a small bag rule so a WoC fits the size parameters! Also great to tuck chain in and use as a clutch on date night!
