I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. This says more about her than you. Don't let her silly comment define or change anything about who you are, or what you do. Keep your head high, be proud of who you are! And be proud of, - and wear your gorgeous bags! I'm sure that for some people, MMK or even MK are looked upon as second best in comparison to Balenciaga, LV , Hèrmes and so on. But should we really care? I for one love MK because of the quality and design, and I honestly don't care if someone doesn't like my bags. I think that they are missing out on something, and don't know better. I concentrate on those who admire my bags, on the looks I get, on the compliments. On how a new MK bag brings out my smile. And btw; if she is so cought up in dressing to the 9's.....What is she doing in an outlet...? Forget about this shallow person. She isn't worth your thoughts. Sending you a warn hug all the way from Norway :)

I couldn't have said it better myself! Well said, Norwegian Girl!!!

Life is too short to let other's opinions have that much power over your life!! And besides....opinions are like backsides....everybody has one & they all stink!

Thank you all so much for the supportive feedback. She really just is a bit#h. There were other comments made as well. Snarky comment about the restaurant I took her to, she wanted to go to a trendy clothing boutique and made a comment that some of the clothes are too flowy and they look good on me but she likes tighter clothing. So true, money doesn't buy you class!

Sounds to me like she's one of those folks who likes to tear others down so they can feel superior. Who needs this kind of negativity in their life. Just smile sweetly at her & say "Bless your heart" in your best Scarlet O'Hara voice. That's Southern-ese for "You're a dumba$$!

Don't let her bring you down, my Sistah!!! She's no friend & you should focus on the people who encourage you & make you feel good. Don't give this individual any kind of power over your life. Sending you a BIG hug from the South!!!:hugs:

Sounds to me like this woman is intimidated by and/or jealous of you and felt the strong need to take you down a peg or two. I would have smiled big and said something like:
"Well, I am an AMAZING PERSON so I can carry any bag I choose..."
Then I would laugh and laugh and change the subject.

True Southerners can insult someone without them realizing they've been insulted until about 30 minutes later. And we always do it with a smile. My mother is 85 yrs old & she's a master at it! :lawl:

I would love to learn that lol:). Guess we are a different breed here in the North. Insulting with a smile always seems to end up sarcastic.

True Southerners believe in hospitality. We speak to everyone. We tend to be nice even to people we don't like, hence the sweet voice & smile even when we insult someone. It's all very subtle. Now, if someone is incredibly rude & obnoxious, we will go off on them like a volcano!:roflmfao:

Well, I read she said "I thought you carried AMAZING bags, I saw that one at the outlet" I guess you had to be there to hear the tone of voice. I just don't understand how if she was shopping herself at the outlet, what her problem would be??

I also read that too (amazing bags). Anyhow, this lady must have lowself-esteem and needs to justify her insecurities by putting people down yet does not realize how stupid she sounds by saying she "saw that at the outlet".

Wish I had heard the tone of voice. Not sure if she was insulting. If you are IN THE OUTLET, you obviously have no problem with outlet stores! So she saw it in the outlet??? That's an insult?? I just don't get it, although the poster, 'songofthesea' was there and heard it. If it made her feel bad, it must have had a nasty voice tone. I just know how sensitive women are when it comes to fashion. I always try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. I have been taken the wrong way many times, even here, when I was actually complimenting, it was taken negatively...so I just don't know.

Regardless, you are all right, that 'songofthesea' should hold her head high and not worry about what others think or say.
