This has been on my mind for a while and I wanted to get it off my chest. One of my husband's business partners is very into couture and shoes and always dresses to the 9s. We were invited to a function with them and I carried an MMK a bag with me. Her comment to me "I thought you carried amazing bags, I saw that at the outlet last week". First of all it wasn't an outlet bag and it was brand new. Second, WTH??? Who says something like that??? So I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't carry My MMK bags for a while after that and then I said to myself "wth am I doing?!" and started to use them again, in fact getting 2 new ones. I thought it would be tacky to start name dropping the bags I own to her but I was po'd big time. What is wrong with some people????

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. This says more about her than you. Don't let her silly comment define or change anything about who you are, or what you do. Keep your head high, be proud of who you are! And be proud of, - and wear your gorgeous bags! I'm sure that for some people, MMK or even MK are looked upon as second best in comparison to Balenciaga, LV , Hèrmes and so on. But should we really care? I for one love MK because of the quality and design, and I honestly don't care if someone doesn't like my bags. I think that they are missing out on something, and don't know better. I concentrate on those who admire my bags, on the looks I get, on the compliments. On how a new MK bag brings out my smile. And btw; if she is so cought up in dressing to the 9's.....What is she doing in an outlet...? Forget about this shallow person. She isn't worth your thoughts. Sending you a warn hug all the way from Norway :)

I would've said something like, " i know, isn't it amazing? You want to know what's even more amazing? I got it so cheap I could get 10 more" but no, really. I'm so sorry someone made you feel like that. Some people are just really tactless it's unbelievable sometimes but feel no shame or humiliation from carrying what you want. She may look so high end fashionista, but her actions just once again proved that money can't buy class. Be yourself, that's all that matters :hugs:

Norwegian girl is right she is too shallow person, and she has no right to insult you if that is her intention..clearly she is just jealous that even though she is carrying a 90's Birkin etc. she is still not happy so she need to put other people down to make her self feel better. What a b**ch pardon my french..lol
But don't feel bad just be proud of your self and be proud of your bag a beautiful smile in your face is the best accesories that haters can't have:-) Cheer up!!!

Now wait a minute...are you sure she meant it as an insult? Maybe she was giving you a genuine compliment?? If she shops at the MK outlets, than she must like the bags too, wouldn't you think??? Are you sure she was insulting you, or did you just take it that way?? Sorry it made you feel bad, but I just don't understand why she would shopping at the outlet?? It really doesn't make any sense. You know what I mean?

Gurrrrllll... she shops at the outlets! Don't let her fool you!

I just smile and say "Thank you! It is wonderful when you can find a beautiful bag that doesn't cost the same as a small vehicle, isn't it? I'm sure anyone who shops at outlets can understand!"

She is an undercover bargain shopper so don't be 'shame! I take pride in my cost savvy approach in life!

As CinthiaZ mentioned, her comment could be the product of someone with poor social skills attempting to give a compliment.

Why is SHE in the outlet?? Window shopping? Don't let that "witch" get to you or FOOL you. People can be so mean. We all carry high and low end bags. I carry my MK way more than any of my LV, Gucci or Fendi. I would have burst out laughing in her hoity toity face and walked away. She's a jerk probably off her meds!

Thank you all so much for the supportive feedback. She really just is a bit#h. There were other comments made as well. Snarky comment about the restaurant I took her to, she wanted to go to a trendy clothing boutique and made a comment that some of the clothes are too flowy and they look good on me but she likes tighter clothing. So true, money doesn't buy you class!

So not only do you carry cheap crappy handbags, your also too FAT to wear tight clothes?? Where is my 9mm??? Straight shots to the knees!!! My class just went out the window-LOL!!
She is horrible.

Cinthiaz, this "lady" is a psycho. There wasn't a compliment in that exchange. It was pure meaness. If I say "I thought you carried better bags", where is the compliment? LOL! Regardless she made her feel less than worthy and embarassed her. This female is tacky as all get out.

Well, I read she said "I thought you carried AMAZING bags, I saw that one at the outlet" I guess you had to be there to hear the tone of voice. I just don't understand how if she was shopping herself at the outlet, what her problem would be??

First of all, I totally agree with the notion that this says a lot more about her than you, haha.

Secondly, you know what I would have responded? "My gosh I'm shocked...I thought you only dressed in haute couture. What on EARTH were you doing at an outlet? Since you said you saw my bag there you must know so much about what they carry in outlets. Hopefully no one saw you there." But that's just me. :devil:

Thirdly: You must spend more time in outlets than you think because my bag is actually MMK. Your untrained eye just didn't realize it.

Ok, I'm done. Too much evil in one post. But cheer up! Stupid people make things more interesting and are perfect chances to whip out killer sarcasm.
