Wow! Congrats! :worthy:
That is a stunning statement necklace. Modeling pics please!
How did the SA manage to pack it in a pouch? Did they have a giant pouch? The regular sized ones look like they would have been too small.
I think the SA packed it in a pouch because that's what they typically do for silver items...even if they cost more than some of the gold items. I know...doesn't make sense sometimes. Glad Customer Service overnighted you a box. That was great service!![]()
Fabulous and very special statement piece of Tiffany! You were so lucky (and persistent) to find this new in a Tiffany store. When was this first issued? Somehow think I vaguely remember a photo in Vogue a good while back.
But my heart is completely up taken by Puffy! What a couple of treasures you have there!
If you look in post #3, you can see the giant sized pouch. For the more expensive silver items, like the scarf necklace, I've gotten suede cases (the folding kind with the flaps). I think it was just one of those things. The SA had no idea how to wrap it.
The scorpion was originally designed in 1979 and I'd imagine it may have been retired and reissued a couple of times since then.
Honestly, I'd been hunting on the secondary market for it but they've been few and far between and soooooo expensive. Retail at Tiffany was actually less than the resale prices I've seen. I had pretty much given up on getting anything other than the smaller reissue version that isn't segmented. It was a combination of luck, an empty store and a very helpful SA.
Puffy and her siblings are definitely treasures! Thank you!
Persistence pays off big time! I've noticed that too. Tiffany retail is frequently less than resale.
