The sterling silver is $925. The gold one much much more expensive at $2650.

I called around the local Tiffany stores and most do not carry it in their stores. Just the San Francisco one. If you plan to go to the store, call them first to see if they have it on their sales floor. Good luck! :smile1:

diane278, if you do a search using the words "tiffany scorpion" using "entire posts" you will see a thread called "meet my new critter "stinger" the person who posted this thread had the gold one and also has modeling pictures. i never went to the tiffany stores to compare sizes. i just called the stores and was able to locate one with both the gold and silver and I asked them to measure both. according to the sales lady she says they are identical in size. But the chain to the gold is 16" where as the chain to the silver is 15.5"

I forgot to mention.... if you do a search "nicole kidman tiffany scorpion" in google under images... there is a photo shoot like ad with her and a man. she is wearing this beautiful white dress wearing the gold tiffany scorpion... those pictures will give you an idea of size as well.

Thank you! I just looked up the photo. I have most of the EP pieces that I want, but am considering adding this. I will have to try it on to see if I like where it hangs on my neck. I am considerably older than most of you and I may need to have it hang lower on my neck. I'm sure it can be lengthened.

This piece is so amazing and lovely. I keep coming back to look!

I'm not a fan of scorpions, by any means... although my mother is a Scorpio, too... but I love how fluid this piece is, the way it wears, and the fact that you say it moves!

I think that if I were looking for a statement piece, this would be it.

Initially when I read the description indicating the chain is only 15.5" this made me concerned. I usually never wear a chain this short. BUT, because of the arms of the scorpion, it adds an additional 2 more inches to the overall length. I thought I would have needed to lengthen it too, but that is not the case. I do suggest you find a Tiffany Store which carries it on their sales floor so that you can try it on to be sure. Good luck! OH btw: I asked for pricing for lengthening... it will cost you $40 per inch added.... pretty pricey!

The mechanics of how it's made is amazing.... each joint of the tail moves and you don't see the connections even in the back. All the connections are hidden. I can see why this piece cost so much because of the details involved in making it. The only complaint I have is the pointy tail at the very end.... it's a pointy hook and it tends to get caught in sweaters or knitted blankets.
