Like a lot of purse lovers, I started my collection with Louis Vuitton. My very first premium luxury designer handbag was the Speedy 30 in monogram. I've sold a lot of handbags through the years in an effort to have a more curated collection and to accommodate my evolving style and preferences. The Speedy 30 is here to stay.

The other OGs in this picture are the LV Neverfull MM in damier ebene, LV Speedy 30 Bandouliere in damier ebene, Chanel Double Classic Flap in navy caviar leather with SHW, Hermès Evelyne PM in rouge casaque clemence, and Hermès Herbag Zip 31 in noir.

The rest are newer and/or replacements to pieces I used to have. They have their own story to tell, which I'll be happy to feature, here. ☺️

Let's start the storytelling with this damier ebene beauty. Because I'm lazy, pasting, here, my edited IG caption for this photo.

LV Totally MM in damier ebene

I originally had a Totally PM in the damier azur canvas. It was the first luxury designer bag that I had bought for myself (the Speedy 30 in monogram was a gift from my husband). I originally wanted it to be in the MM size and in the monogram canvas but I thought to keep the monogram pedestal with the classic Speedy and because I was afraid to shell out those extra bucks for the larger size.

Fast-forward to a couple of years later, LV released it in the damier ebene canvas (it originally came only in monogram and damier azur). I found myself toying with the idea of upgrading the size and shifting to the less risky DE canvas. I mean, if you have a big zippered bag as an everyday bag, it's got to be dirt-resistant, right? Two more years later and this time, with a baby, after selling my Totally PM, I half-dragged the husband to the nearest LV boutique and out we went with this beauty.

Sure, some people in the purse community liken it to a baby/mommy/diaper bag because of its two outer pockets on either side. But this beauty, especially the one in the MM size, should never be dismissed by anyone, whether with a child or without, who is looking for a functional but stylish bag from Louis Vuitton.

It is a well-structured bag - neither too stiff nor too slouchy. It has three inner pockets, too. While it may be tricky to quickly retrieve anything small from the deep outer pockets especially if your hands are big like mine, you are forgiven if you altogether ignore those pockets. The straps sit comfortably on the shoulder when worn. And at $1430 back when I got it in 2015/2016? Definitely worth your $$.

Hermès Grooming Bag

I got this in July 2022. I wanted a big bag that could double as a travel bag. I was not so keen on getting the Dior Book Tote because I wanted compartments and I thought the Hermès Grooming Bag checked all my requirements. I'm not sure why I didn't save proper pictures prior to using this one but here she is in action during a recent staycation! My hubby challenged me to bring just one bag for a two-night stay at another city and by one bag, he meant no WOCs, no folded Longchamp totes, nothing. Just one bag. I managed to cram my clothes, toiletries, phone, and keys in this one. It was heavy AF. Lol.

Goyard St. Louis GM

I got this green beauty from the Goyard store in San Francisco in 2021. I had just come from my shopping appointment at H across the street and I didn't score any bag. Since I was determined to go home with a bag, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to finally get a St. Louis GM. I previously had a gorgeous yellow St. Louis PM from Fashionphile. Though I got it in new condition, I found the shoulder strap too small for my then heavy frame. I returned it to Fashionphile and had since promised myself I'd have another St. Louis but this time, in the GM size.

Hermès Herbag Zip 31 in noir

Miss Herbag was my second H bag. I got her in 2017. It was around the time the H website was plentiful in terms of bags. Since my H collection is growing, I've been on and off at letting her go for the past three years. I'm only stopped by the idea that she's discreet, style-wise, a quiet luxury piece. Plus, it's so hard to get Herbags from the website and from the store these days. As such, she's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Hermès Kelly 28 in orange clemence leather & PHW

Yup! Orange! Not feu, not any other color... it's orange! This was in excellent condition when I got it in 2019. The crazy part about this beauty is how I accidentally stepped on it barely a month after getting it from Fashionphile. A bent turnlock and some leather scratches as a result of my clumsiness had me sending it to Hermès for repair and spa. It came back after two months, in so much better condition than when I originally received it.

Hermès Picotin 18 in anemone & GHW

This is my third Picotin! Yes! Third! Lol. My first was a Picotin 22 in etain with PHW. I found it too large and the color, too dull. It now resides in Japan with its new owner. My next was a Picotin 18 in gold and bleu brume and PHW. The body was in gold, but the underside of the handle was in bleu brume in swift. Too scared of the underside getting dirtied, it also exited my collection. Now they say third time's a charm. Miss Anemone has definitely charmed its way into my heart.

Hermès Birkin 35 in gold togo & GHW
Hermès Birkin 30 in turquoise & PHW

Didn't I say I'm lazy? Yes I did. Lol. Posting a two for one with these queens.

I scored B35 from Fashionphile in 2018. Would you believe she was $8750?! She was in excellent condition and came with a box, and all of its accessories except for its big dustbag. Fifty people were ready to check out with it. I was the 51st. Lol.

Miss B30 celebrated its first year with me last January. I got impatient waiting for a Birkin offer so I pulled the trigger when I saw her being advertised at the Reetzy group. Needless to say, she was perfect. She's in turquoise... the closest to what I originally wanted (bleu jean). And she's from 2015, the year my son was born.

Hermès Evelyne PM in rouge casaque leather & PHW

Ah the start of my H slippery slope! I got this Evelyne PM in 2016 from the website just to see what the hype was about where Hermès craftsmanship was concerned. I remember promising myself that I was one and done since Chanel was my thing and I was all too happy to have just one Hermès bag. That was in 2016. As you can see from my very first picture in this thread, the "one and done" became "nine and counting". Lol
