Hi everyone,

I’ve some money to spend but can’t decide what to splurge it on. Shortlist is an Hermes Clic H bangle or Hermes Rivoli leather bracelet. I’m looking for something classic and long lasting. Wanted diamond studs but for that budget they’re too small.

I’m open to designers etc, and would love some ideas. This might be fun too

PS it’s a late Xmas present from my husband.

Hermès makes some nice stud earrings as well (obviously not diamonds) around that price level.

Do you like pearls? White/Space makes some lovely pearl jewelry.

But, if you like the Clic H bangles, can't go wrong there.

If you want the diamond studs, I suggest waiting and saving your own money to add on to your wonderful husband's gift and then get the studs (if that's what you really want).

If you just want to spend now, is there something that you feel is missing in your current collection?
For example, when you're getting ready for the day or an event, putting on your outfit, accessories, and jewelry, but nothing is quite exactly how you want it, and the thought of "well if I had something like this, it would be nice/it would work".

Hope that helps!

Classic and long lasting doesn’t suggest something like H Clic bracelet to me honestly. They’re very overpriced and a bit faddy.

I think going for something in your favourite metal by a smaller artisan is a more exciting and classic option. There are some amazing artists on Etsy. Not to everyone’s taste, and I’m not sure how original these designs are, but I’d love a few pieces from MARINEJUNEJewelery at some point. I just love the drips lol.

Or, I’d have a look on preloved sites like louptroop or at an antique store for something vintage and original. I’d love to see how far that sort of money went on preloved. And it would be closer to a one of a kind. But I’m sentimental and don’t really enjoy the off the shelf stuff.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. On my left hand I have my engagement/wedding ring in platinum and a Cartier Panthere medium watch in SS. On my right hand (equivelant ring finger) I’ve a wider ring with rectangular baguettes and round brilliants on each edge.

I was looking at the leather Hermes bracelets like Rivoli with the silver hardware, as well as the clic H. I think I should stick to silver tones to match what else I have. I like the idea of the bangles the first poster made. I have also seen this diamond cross but not sure if because it’s so cheap means it’s tiny or not good quality.

It doesn’t HAVE to be jewellery, so I’m open to any ideas for something that feels really luxurious but will last a lifetime. I hate spending money on something too trendy or which I might not wear often or for long.

I’m. Going to look into some of the ideas posted, like the Yurman bracelet which I’ve seen in photos but didn’t know what it was or where from. Is Lagos the name of a bracelet or a jewellery retailer?

Lagos is a brand. it is carried here in the US in more upscale department stores. They are mostly known for their caviar beadwork

What about an Hermes scarf?
Yes I’ve thought about that too. What I think I’m trying to say is I’d like to use it for something from a luxury brand. I don’t have anything Hermes at all. I do have some high end items but not from the following: Hermes, Dior, YSL, Bottega, Bvlgari. Other brands like YSL, Gucci I don’t feel are as ‘luxury’ or should I say have that unattainable aura.

I don’t want to waste it on something like a purse which you never see. I like shoes , bags, accessories and jewellery - pretty much like all of you ha ha.

Opinion - would you say the wide Hermes leather CDC bracelet has had its day?

I'm not sure about the bracelet, it's not my style.
What about a silver piece from Tiffany?
Or maybe a local jeweler has a nice piece still on holiday sales? Often times a non brand piece can give more value for the money.

you have been given some lovely options
The harsh reality of shopping on a budget for the high end designers you have listed is that you are pretty much limited to "entry level" pieces. You might be able to stretch your funds a bit further by looking at reputable resellers for pre-loved items.
You say you want timeless classics, but seem drawn to the trendier like the Clic or the CDC. The Clic screams costume jewelry to me and while I would rock a CDC it isn't exactly an every day piece, iykwim. And you did state that you don't want to waste your money on something you would never see.
If you feel that YSL and Gucci aren't luxe enough, I doubt that Lagos, Yurman or Tiffany would be acceptable, especially at the price point we have been given.
Perhaps holding on to the funds and adding to them either yourself or through other gifts-----Valentine's Day will be here before you know it------might be another option
I have been cursed with champagne taste and a club soda budget. I have had to be very patient in acquiring what I have. I have also had to accept that there are certain things that will be forever beyond my reality. I would LOVE to have a Love or JUC bracelet. What I have "settled" for is a pre-loved Panthere watch and two Trinity cord bracelets at a fraction of the price of the others. I look at Hermes and lust, but I know that a pre-loved Evelyne or some such is all I can realistically hope for.
Best of luck in your shopping! :flowers:

I’d say look for vintage/estate, or have you looked at Miansai? They make some really cool modern pieces. I have their bracelets and a pair of their earrings and they have held up well.

There’s that really good website for preloved luxury jewellery. Dammit I’ve forgotten the name, but someone else will remember. There are some amazing pieces that come up there so you can bypass the entry level stuff. But it depends if you’d also like the whole experience of going into a store etc.

I’d definitely focus on a brand with better ethics than Hermes though. I don’t personally know how people can still support the brand :(
