so pretty! Love it....
thanks Kimber!
Wow candice, that stone is spectacular! The purple is very rich without being dark and is quite a lovely shade of lavender! Congrats!
thanks Khol, its shift colours too depending on the lighting. it goes from soft lavender to a metallic medium purple when its cloudy outside.
Very pretty!

Where did you source the stone?
thanks Kitsunegrl, I sourced it from a gem dealer in thailand. their ebay name is gemburionline :D its hard to find spinel over 2 carats so i sacrificed clarity for size, there are a few visible bubble inclusions.

aw thanks skyqueen, i'm so happy you like it! I went to so many local jewellers trying to find someone who would work with me on the design...most stores just wanted to throw it into a solitaire setting without adjusting the shank width or do rose gold prongs...luckily I found a great local jeweller who not only takes your ideas and adds his 2 cents to the design as well...but he's super fast! it took 2 days to make this setting :D

So pretty... I love the two tone metal :D
thanks flipdiver, I sent you a PM!
Many congrats Candice, it is beautiful! I also like 2 tone metal.
thanks Lily, I like using 2 tone metal to highlight whatever gemstone i'm setting. this stone doesnt have any brown tones so I was safe using rose gold head and claws- if the spinel has brown tones the RG would bring even more of that out and I would have stuck to white gold:smile1:
Wow, so pretty! Are you going to wear it everyday as a RHR?
one of many RHR's mwaha:graucho: I had it on my left ring finger yesterday and I liked how it looked..but knowing that people would think I was married I switched it over...I'm still looking that special guy, I dont wanna scare anyone away! LOL
CONGRATULATIONS!!! it's beautiful! I love the simplicity of the setting, & the two-tone gold. I'm sure you've been wearing it every day, right? :graucho:
thanks Frick! I was hoping you would see this, thanks for all the help with the setting! I took the best of each pieces we looked at and brought them together. rose gold head and claws to highlight the purple spinel, and white gold shank :D I got it back on saturday and I've worn it 24/7 since..love that spinel is hard enough to wear all the time!...I do have to bring it back to the jeweller to do a quicki tweak on one of the prongs, its not touching the stone on the very tip and it keeps getting caught in things.

you did BETTER than any of the settings that we were talking about! I love the pure simplicity of this setting. it shows off your stone wonderfully. for some reason, I'm drawn to the "collar" of WG around the bottom (pavilion) of the stone. it's fascinating! I also love the large/thick prongs that highlight the RG.

I can imagine that you've worn it constantly...I would too! I can't believe the stone changes color based on the light. it sounds amazing!
