36 mm Rolex Too Big?

I bought a 31 since I have small wrists. While I love it and felt the 28 was too small for me, part of me wishes I had also tried the 36 for an additional size comparison. No regrets on my 31, mind you, but bigger watches are in, so…
Here’s the 31 on me, in case you’re curious. If I recall correctly, my wrist measures just over 5” around.

10 years ago 36 would be considered small and Daytona was the most popular size!
I have Ladyjust, 31 and 36. All of them are great for me. 36 for more casual jeans day. I’m 5.10 so all look good on me.

Thank you so much! It’s the mint green dial. I had not expected to get a Rolex and definitely would not have thought about a green dial in any watch brand would be to my liking, but I tried on several options in the boutique (both 28 and 31) and this one was love at first sight.I think that size looks perfect on you!Beautiful color dial, too.
I think it depends on wrist size…
I have little wrists (5”) and bought my 31mm, then referred to as “midsize” about 15 or so years ago. It’s remained perfect size for me, and my personal preference.
A 36 presidential is on my list.
DH surprised me with a 39mm Hublot but because of its shape, it doesn’t really seem bigger than my Rolex to me.

I had two 31mm's and ended up selling them both. I am now waiting on a 36mm. It really depends on what look you are going for but both sizes are nice, just different look.
2008 - Rolex Lady Datejust 26mm, TT MOP, diamond markers.
2017 - Rolex Datejust 31mm, SS Pink dial, Roman numeral
2024 - Placed interest for Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm, SS Celebration dial
I think I might get it in 4 years’ time. I’m 5th in the list and the store only received one 36mm in the last 12 months! 🫣
To OP, yes, I went bigger and bigger 😆. In 2017, when we could walk in and get any watch, SA told me to consider 34mm, that was in my wishlist too but too bad that size has been discontinued.

I have super small wrists and just bought the Lady Datejust 28 today!! I adore her and can’t stop staring at her!!! Here are a 36, two 31’s and my 28 on my wrist. Good luck with your decision. Any Rolex is a great choice! ❤️👑
