HbH I don't really think it's a matter of your size, but more your "look" I am taller than you and prefer 30s for all but travel. More of a handbag than a tote.

Do you generally prefer bigger bags? Which bags do you most like to carry now?

Hi, there are lots of pictures you can compare different sizes in the reference library thread! I am 5.4 and I just got a 35 but I am dying for a 40 now,lol....it all depends on how much you need to carry in the bag and of course how the size looks on you. Why don´t you try and get to an H-store and try out the different sizes?

eta: like handybags said, it all depends on your "look"!

I am a BIG bag gal;)

I'm the same height as you, small-framed, and most of my Birkins are 35cm!

In fact, I posted a pic of me carrying the exact bag - 35cm Gold Togo GHW, in the "Hermes in Action" thread recently!
There are many members carrying Birkins of various sizes in that thread, you may like to take a look and compare to see what suits your style:

Personally, I don't think there is really any right or wrong size with Birkins, it's more an individual preference. ;)

I agree! Size is a matter of preference. I don't think a 35 is too big at all for your size. I like both sizes and think they fit different uses. For me, a 30 is a better transitional size from day to evening. I can fit all my daily stuff in a 30, but when I need to carry more, I reach for a 35.

personally i think 35cm is PERFECT! and i'm not so tall myself, i've found my 40cm blue jean annoying =/ i wish it was HAC its funny because i tried on a 50CM Travel Birkin and i did not find it too big at all(maybe because i love HAC) but a 35cm is perfect not too big not too small i personally wouldn't do a 30cm unless it was ostrich or croc

There is really no such thing as too big. It depends on the function, and if you prefer the tote look or pursey look. Make a real-sized cutout of cardboard of both 30 and 35 if you are unable to get a real birkin to compare. Do note that the weight difference will not be reflected in a cardboard mockup. I was initially aghast at the weight of my 35 but I've since gotten used to it.

My personal opinion is that it isn't a matter of your size but what type of bag you want. The 30 is like a handbag and the 35 is more of a tote. .....

If you wear a lot of dresses and are "girly" ... go with 30.
If you are more casual and wear jeans and pants a lot ... go with 35.
If you want a bag to go from day to evening ... go with 30
If you want a bag to schlep papers to the office, carry magazines, etc. ... go with 35

I've had both and now only 35s. I am 5'1" ...

Very well said, kallie Girl !:smile1:

I'm similar in height and cannot deal with a 35 because 1) it's just too heavey 2)DH says it looks like I'm rubbing a bank:p

It's definitely a personal choice and what your style is. I find the 30 to fit me perfectly, not too big, not to sporty, a little more girly~~

I'd suggest you go to the boutique to check the sizes out ..as other ladies commented on, it is really a personal preference. IMHO, 35 looks a bit boxy if you wear dressy outfits.

sorry OT, but I used to carry Balenciaga weekenders (45 cm) and they hold ALOT, and when stuffed they are very heavy so I was pleasantly surprised at how light my Birkin actually felt!:smile1:
