Hi All,
I am travelling to Seoul for PS in late September for 33 nights. Any ideas which places I can stay in that are safe? Not sure about hotels as want to be able to do laundry, cook, etc given length of my stay. I am flying in from London and need to be in the Gagnam area since that's where all the clinics are.
Any suggestions please? I am also unsure if 33 nights is too much - I am having harvested rib cartillage rhinoplasty and anti ageing. I have never had PS in my life and just wanted the reassurance for time incase anything goes wrong. I suffered very badly with just mere coolsculpting to my abdomen so Lord knows what will actuall happen now that I am being cut open. I am a solo female traveller.
Thanks for all your tips!

Hello. Seoul is a safe city so you can relax  It is really fun and you are going during the perfect time. The weather is nice
you will enjoy yourself . Make sure to let your doctor know if you had any type of bad reactions to surgery/anesthesia in the past.
Rib Rhinoplasty is different for everyone I guess. However, for me it was not as painful as I expected it to be . You will be sore but it was not unbearable .

Ok here is a few tips

Download Kakaotaxi because it is like the Korean uber

Get a SIMs card

I know you are staying for a long time so it's important to pick a place that have a washing machine and dryer.
Both hotels I recommend below have that available. But no kitchenette

You do not have to get a hotel/accommodation in the Gangnam area because you can get there easily by Subway even if you stay in another part of Seoul . Just make sure you know what subway stations are near the clinics you are going to consult with ... So you can get from your hotel to the clinic easily. ( Know what subway station is near the hotel /accommodation you pick as well ) Always carry a card of your hotel/ or address of place you are staying incase you get lost

Look on Bookings . c o m ... for hotels or expedia

Look for places with a rating of 7.8 or higher (Check reviews)
Prices are going up quick so I would secure something as soon as possible.

They have paper maps of the Subway system at some hotels and tourist information desk . I would check at the airport and ask around . Some hotels have them too. It is confusing at first but you will get a hang of it quickly. Plus most Koreans speak a little English to help you. But if you have a map you can point and show someone where you need to go on the map and they will help you even if they do not speak English.

33 nights is not too much . Especially if you have not chosen a clinic yet . If you know where you are going 2 weeks is okay . It give you time to heal and make sure is everything good before leaving. Plus you get to enjoy yourself.
Are you having a facelift? What type of antiaging procedure?

What do you call antiaging?

33 days for a nose job is far too much. You are going to be very bored. I wouldn't stay any more days than the days that you got to have the cast on.
I am beginning to think it’s too much too. I have a few hours to cancel my flight for a full refund and book a shorter one. How many days would you or people advise? Antiageing treatments most likely the thread lift and slight fat transfer to my under eyes where I have hollows.

I stayed at Hotel DM and Toyoko INN and had good experiences at both places
I liked Toyoko Inn better because it came with breakfast and the washing machine and dryers were plentiful
Both were cheap, clean and safe

Oh thank you so much! Really appreciate this! My pain threshold is so low and I got really ill with coolsculpting so a bit worried. I was in pain for a very very long time. Also when I had wrist surgery in the past it took me a long time to recover. I was drowsy and tired for a week. So I am just really worried and think I need all the time to recover…my instinct is telling to book longer but the other part of me is saying it’s too long. Plus I would also like to tour Seoul and if possible take day trip to North Korea if this is safe. Let me check the hotels you recommended. Thank you again.

You cannot visit North Korea from South Korea. You can only go to NK through China with an organized tour. Going to NK is not precisely a picnic.

I just realized your nickname. Don't go to Korea to get a nose job. Go to Turkey or Latin America instead.

I found some nice apartments online for under 1000 for a month on airbnb.

I even see a really nice one with a 4.5 star for under 500

Some places you can rent a room inside of people's homes and get the amenities you are looking for . That is nice ..since you are nervous. You will not be alone . Just make sure the host has good reviews.

North Korea is out then! Somehow thought I could do a day trip. Turkey has SO many botched jobs. Latin America Good for BBL. Seoul honestly is the place to be for PS and I have seen an example on a friend who did.

I didn’t see that on Airbnb. I think because I am in the U.K., I can’t visit the Korea site? This is so frustrating. I am not nervous about being alone … I am use to it as I travel alone all the time. I am just nervous about the pain from the surgery that’s all. I wouldn’t want to stay within a family home as I really want my privacy.

Gotcha. From my personal experience it was not that bad and I was able to take care of myself afterwards. ( sore yes, not unbearable)
It was less painful than Facial contouring and hair transplant for me.
However, there are some people who find it painful and may need assistance.

Guro is fine .

Best of luck to you

You will be fine. Seoul is VERY safe. I was there in April / May for surgeries and will be there Oct 5-19 for some skin treatments. I am staying in Sinsa area (part of Gangnam) at a cheap AirBnb (under $50USD/ night). If you know where you are having surgery staying 2-3 weeks after is plenty for recovery and exploring.

DM me if you want to hang out if you’re there during same time. I had rib rhino last time. It’s uncomfortable but totally mangeable.
