3 medium flaps one too many or a jumbo?

I have owned different jumbos and caviar is not necessarily more heavy than lamb. I weight a seasonal caviar jumbo against a classic lamb (both black) and they were about the same weight! I don’t know it it had got do with the seasonality of the caviar but this really surprised me.

Oh interesting! Do you find your jumbos to be too heavy? Still trying to decide which route to take lol.

No i don’t think they are very heavy. I actually prefer the jumbo over the other sizes and use a Maxi for work. I’m 5’8 but I also love them on shorter people.
I like the cross body option, the extra capacity to bring a water bottle, makeup bag, iPad, or a small umbrella, (lots of rain where I live). The trend is smaller bags now but go for what works for your lifestyle. Trends really change every other decennium, been around long enough to have experienced that 🤪

Oh I’m with you on the small bag trend lol. I’ve always loved a big bag and am very over cramming items into mini bags. 1 or 2 mini bags in my collection will always be enough

Ideally you try a jumbo on, maybe a friend has one? Otherwise I would just order and return if it turns out you don’t like it. If you have never tried one it’s difficult to decide, I see where you come from when you said you are hesitant to add another medium at this point.

I'm sure you have googled comparison pics or videos on medium vs jumbo..jumbo is HUGE. Medium is a beautiful size esthetically so if the size works for you then I definitely vote for you to get another medium flap.

Very true! The two I own are extremely different chevron taupe calfskin with pewter hardware & navy caviar with light gold hardware. So maybe I need to do a bright color with gold hardware or even black in medium
A pop of color sounds like a great idea. Something in the red spectrum, from very light pink to true red, to burgundy, you have SO many choices.

Or a yellow! That's hot.

I own a jumbo. Sadly I hardly use it because of its bulky size and weight. I would never sell it because I got it years ago before the price increases.

If you go for a safe color in medium, then I think it's redundant. Otherwise, go for it!

I agree, the jumbo is definitely a large jump in size compared to the medium for sure! I just struggle wrapping my head around 3 of the same sized bag lol. I try to keep a stream lined collection. Try being the key word

Burgundy would be stunning!! I struggle with reds unless they lean more coral. And yellow would be swoon worthy as well. We are definitely speaking the same language :hbeat:

I vote for sticking with what works. The jumbo is so so chic - I have always loved the proportions and the way it looks but it’s just far too heavy to wear all day. It’s fine initially but after a while the thicker chains start to dig in and it’s just a nuisance. I would never sell mine but I would also never buy another. I never wear my black and my beige gets worn maybe once a year. IMO it think it looks a bit ridiculous worn cross body or single strap on the shoulder because the chain is SO long and because it’s so big and I’m 172cm. It looks good worn double strap.

Medium is the best size IMO. If it works for you then buy it in a different colour. I have it in virtually every colour - some get used often and some hardly ever but I know the size works in virtually any setting and it’s just a matter of matching whichever works with my outfit. It’s lightweight and fits the essentials. It’s the ultimate timeless size.

Have you considered white caviar? It would go with so many thing. Light pink is almost a neutral. Beige would also be very practical. There was a beautiful light beige from 23P with the shade name ecru that is so versatile.

Update! When I posted this thread I had found this jumbo which is the main reason I was considering one. After days of waiting on it I couldn’t resist. For those that know previous seasons it’s the 17s charcoal iridescent caviar that gives off a green shimmer. It arrived today and I am obsessed. I don’t feel it over powers me and it’s a perfect addition to my navy & taupe medium flaps. I’d love to add a colorful small or medium flap in the future but for now as a mom of 2 little ones this will be perfect worry free bag. Excuse my attempts at some selfies  IMG_7400.jpegIMG_7401.jpegIMG_7396.jpegIMG_7391.jpegIMG_7387.jpegIMG_7390.jpeg

This was part of my problem with classic flaps. I get so bored with beige or black. Hence my navy, taupe & now the charcoal iridescent jumbo I posted above. I need a little something “different.” I would love a white flap BUT I had a horrible incident with a beige Chanel bag and it’s scared me. Maybe once my kids are much older lol.

You look very effortlessly chic with the jumbo! Enjoy your bag and your little ones ! I find the phrase ' the days are long , but the years are short' to be spot on with children
